In the six years since I graduated college, I’ve spent nearly half of that time either working around or directly with handbags, and my love for them goes back even further. As I get older, I find it interesting to compare how my tastes have changed. While I used to be drawn towards a few select designers, I’m now starting to diversify my collection a bit more. I can’t remember when I was first introduced to Salvatore Ferragamo, but I do remember when I first starting lusting after Ferragamo bags. The year was 2010, and I was on a study abroad trip to Florence, Italy. There, I was able to visit the Ferragamo Museum and learn all about the brand and its rich history. The brand is known for its incredible craftsmanship and use of quality materials.
Though I don’t yet own a Ferragamo of my own, I am consistently impressed by what Ferragamo is doing as a whole. I’m drawn to the amazing leather and classic shapes, yet each new design still has a bit of an edge, or a trendy element, though not so much that the bag will ever feel dated. What I love about Ferragamo bags is that I imagine them being relevant for years to come, which is so important when you’re investing in a designer piece. Recently, I fell for The Ferragamo Quilted Gancini Flap Bag.
This mini bag is tiny, so it’s not one of those bags that I picture taking me from day to night, but rather it’s one I imagine accompanying me to special events for years to come. First up, my cousin’s wedding this coming October. This mini would make the perfect compliment to our rich, jewel-toned green dresses. I love the neutral shade of this bag, the discreet logo quilting, and the muted gold-toned hardware. The turncock closure is delicate and dainty, and the gold chain makes this the perfect bag to carry to special events, though overall the bag is not too dressy to wear out at night with jeans and a cute top or a casual sun dress. In true Ferragamo fashion, this bag is incredibly well-made, and though the leather seems sturdy and durable, it still has a really nice hand to it. The overall craftsmanship of the bag is one to truly marvel at.
This flap bag features quilting in the classic Ferragamo Gancini logo, which was inspired by a printed scarf from the Ferragamo archives. Beautiful and timeless, the Quilted Gancini Flap bag is the perfect evening bag. Though it’s tiny, you can fit in just what you need for an event or a night out. For me, that meant packing in my phone, a lipstick, a thin card case with my ID + debit card, a tube of Aquaphor and one of my favorite scents. There is one zippered pocket on the back interior of the bag, and the overall dimensions are 6.6″ L x 9.8″ W x 3.5″ D. The Ferragamo Quilted Gancini Flap Bag is available for $2,300 via Ferragamo.

I really wish it wasn’t quilted!!! I love everything else about it but I won’t buy it because of the odd quilt pattern that looks cheap and will look aged as soon as quilting isn’t the hottest new thing! The Chanel quilting patterns are classic neutrals, this is not.
I believe the quilting brings it up a notch with elegance. I do love all the neutral patterns in channel and etc but ofcourse thats “classical channel” it will always be hot in my opinion. Its nice to see other top brands bring quilted to the table!
a Ferragamo boy bag ……..NO thanks…..
Bir, did you possibly mean Gucci Marmot bag? Or even Chanel flap bag?
How is that a boy bag….? I can’t find any resemblance? I’m just interested to know what YOU see. 🙂
Yeah. I was like boy bag?! Where?!
I like it! Would like it more with a gunmetal hardware option, but otherwise I think it’s a nice alternative.
This is cute!
This is cute!
Discrete logo quilting…. lol. Nothing discrete about that bag.
Better than the main bags. Their bags look cheap.
I think it’s a nice bag. I don’t mind the quilting at all and I prefer gold hardware.
I got the black mini one and its amazing its small but carries enough things! It also feels very nice!
