Recently, Ferragamo.com launched Ready To Wear on its e-commerce site to add to it’s allotment of bags, shoes and accessories. The launch was accompanied by a photo shoot of Rose Gilroy, daughter of Rene Russo, and the team at Ferragamo had exclusive images shot for PurseBlog of the bag with Rose that can only be seen here. The photos themselves are stunning, with Rose Gilroy wearing all shoppable trends that are standout pieces from the Fall Winter 2016 Ferragamo runway collection. I’ve said it many times before, but I’m a Ferragamo girl. I don’t have one Ferragamo bag that has fallen apart or not lived up to the standards I’d expect and the shoes are some of the most comfortable compared to all designer shoes on the market.
While this campaign, set in a quintessentially dreamy NYC townhome, featured more stand-out bags and outfits on Rose Gilroy, there’s one specific bag that was the focus for us. The Ferragamo Gancio Clip Top Handle Bag fits the category of the perfect black bag for so many reasons. First off, it’s stunning. This bag is a standout from the moment you look at it and I always find myself appreciating how Ferragamo rests on the simplicity and beauty of its designs versus over-the-top embellishments. In my opinion the bag is beautiful but the handle is a downer – if they fix the handle it could be a great bag

Nice bag, I can easily picture myself carrying it. However, the design does remind me of some of the The Row bags, albeit a lot less expensive (in the regular leather that is).
It’s a beautiful bag and I’m sure it’s well made, although there are similar bags already on the market. What lets it down for me is the drop of the shoulder strap/handle, even though this is longer than usual for the brand’s totes and hobos. Too many Ferragamo bags have handles/straps that are just too short to sit comfortably on your shoulder in winter when you’re wearing a heavy coat (particularly a puffy coat). They sit comfortably on my shoulder only in the warmer months when I’m wearing a light jacket or no jacket at all.
FWIW, the same bag in regular leather is about $1000 cheaper.

All I see is a woman who looks too young to carry that bag. It looks a little old lady-ish. Like something my 86 year-old grandmother would carry.

Rose Gilroy is stunning as are the boots, but the bag is too matronly. My first immediate thought was
“Queen Elizabeth”…need I say more?
I’m a Ferragamo girl too! But I worry that the flat Gancio clip will show scuffs more quickly than the Gancini clasps.
