Fendi released its now-coveted By The Way Bag last year at this time. Fendi has been at the top of the bag world for a little while now, sticking to a handful of great styles and coming up with a different spin on each one every season. I’ve loved the By The Way bag for a while now; the shape is very different from the 2Jours and 3Jours, and there isn’t anything else quite like it on the market.
Fendi is also winning at embellishments, from the beautiful to the quirky to the crazy, and in this case, it’s a little bit of quirk that lends the perfect additional touch. This By The Way bag features a tail, and while that sounds harsh, the lavish crystals on the tail somehow make the whole thing make perfect sense. I always opt for a smaller bag when it comes to choosing a crazier design, and the light pink leather on this mini version with the yellow-toned crystals is the perfect combination. It’s cute for sure!! Not sure about the popularity as I have yet to see anyone actually carry it, hmm.
I actually saw two in one day at a mall here last week.
The first one I saw has different colored handles than the body (not the same color all the way–i’ve never seen that on here, and it caught me off guard).
The second one I saw is the pink color all over one.
The first one is theoretically a more interesting piece, but the woman who toted it was very bad at styling herself, I almost didn’t see the bag (it got kinda lost in the crazy busy clothes she chose), until she handed it over to a man (presumably her husband).
The second lady was better at accessorizing and styling. Plus I was standing much closer to the woman, in front of the cashier. And it was so nice to see up close. It has a good presence, quite sturdy it seems.
Both of them were toted around without the shoulder strap.
The crystal Fendi is even more beautiful in person. I look at them every time I go to Neiman’s.
I have a larger two tone and I love it but the quality is just not there…after a few uses the corners are already showing wear….not sure Fendi is a good investment bag.
