As I mentioned over on PurseBlog Savvy recently, I’ve been struck by a vintage-shopping craze as of late. Midcentury design flourishes are the Next Big Thing in high fashion, and taking the time to search for the real items from the era always seems like a clever response to the revival of older trends in high fashion.
Sometimes, however, it’s impossible to find exactly what you want in the condition and quality that luxury customers expect. In those situations, items like the Nancy Gonzalez Soft Croc Quilted Satchel are perfect – the bag has all the charm of a great vintage find, but you don’t have to spend hours slogging through dusty bins of old handbags in hopes of finding something like it.
Not only is this little satchel perfectly on-trend and in a great, standout color, but it’s a relative bargain. Before you crucify me for calling a $2750 bag a “bargain,” consider the going rate for many brands’ crocodile bags – it’s much closer to five figures, if not well into them. Because Gonzalez’s operation raises its own crocodiles, the reduced overhead is passed on to customers that are looking for an ultra luxurious bag at a price that is merely very luxurious. It’s still out of reach for the vast majority of people, but this bag is a lot easier to come by than an authentically vintage version or a similar bag from a European brand. Buy through Bergdorf Goodman for $2750.
extremely expensive and not really my kind of color for this kind of bag. but again, extremely expensive!
This looks like my grandmas old purse…..
your grandma has great taste ^_^
ha ha ha…
I’m in love. Too bad I just purchased a Carlos Falchi Python hobo, maybe next time.
I love my Grandma’s purses ! If your Mother or Grandmother kept any of their old evening bags, (usually with elbow length gloves) and rarely used expensive purses, they are THE BEST !! I really like the look of this Nancy Gonzalez satchel. Too expensive for me, but beautiful from afar…
It is very grandma like but in a cute way, plus it has a modern color. I think I like it. The thing with this exotic skin bags made in colombia is that they don’t really come with accessories at all. They’re not embellished so they’re better looking when they are pochettes
I love the color, but I am not digging the whole farm raised use of crocs for a handbag .. cheaper bag, means the standards of keeping the crocs in a stable environment is a no.

hmm i like this bag, but its nothing special, my friend has a bag that pretty much looks identical but ony cost get abot £30 (fb)
The color is pretty, but like others have said, it looks a little too grandma for me. The straps look really long in proportion to the bag too. (fb)
Love the color but not enough to shell out that amount of money. (fb)
i like the bag ! but i would spend that much money on a different bag (fb)
Although I am not usually a fan of anything vintage, I actually LOVE this bag! The color is TDF also. Good call Amanda, good call. You won me over with this one. The price is a little high, but again-it IS croc. (fb)

All the purses from Nancy Gonzalez are made with the fear of her workers, she is very bad as a boss; she tells her workers that they are useless and yells them every time, her famous live is obtained yelling and deception her workers.
Very bad this woman, please don’t buy her purses ’cause the workers are suffering her humiliations.
paying attention to that, exWorker (fb)
