In Time for Summer, Introducing Dior Palms Embroidery

Another stunning motif joins the Dior family

When it comes to the bags at the House of Dior, a handful of designs make up the staples and each is offered in different variations seasonally. The nice thing about this is that the bags are known by us, so new sizes or finishes allow us to find the version that speaks to our wants and needs.

I am a huge Dior Book Tote lover, in fact, I don’t know if there is a variation that I don’t like. I have the small Dior Toile de Jouy Book Tote and that bag quickly became one of the favorites of my collection. I would love to add the larger size Book Tote and when I saw the Dior Palms Embroidery pattern, I started to think that I found my perfect match.

Living in Florida means I am surrounded by palms, in fact, I’m staring at one outside of my window right now. And while I love a bag that fits the aesthetic of where I live, I also don’t want the colors or vibe to be overly cliche or only work for a short time period. That is why the tropical Dior Palms motif in a range of neutral blue hues is a lovely option.

The Dior Palms motif is a reinterpretation of the signature Toile de Jouy motif (the one on my Book Tote that I love!) with a palm tree and vegetation version and traditional Ikat Endek fabrics from Bali designed by Maria Grazia Chiuri. Each Book Tote is crafted in Italy and uses artisanal techniques to showcase a really soothing, soft and vibrant blue motif that is elegant and dreamy.

For the Women’s Summer 2021 line, this pattern adorns a handful of items, not just the Book Tote. You can find it on shoes, other bags including the Lady Dior, small accessories, and the Dior Vanity, which just might be my personal favorite. Here are some of the items we saw, each as beautiful as the next.

How beautiful would this be without the tacky, attention-seeking branding on all these items..! Sigh.

I think the Lady Dior charms would have been more suitable in silver than in gold. The embroidery is so intricate and beautiful but the gold hardware seems to draw attention away from the motifs.

It’s a beautiful tote, but it’s difficult to believe that embroidered, machine stitched, canvas is $3600.00 + tax.

Karen

So true isn’t it? I rather pay for genuine hand stitched by high qualified artisans. Just can’t justified. However, I am quite impressed by the latest technology to do more beautiful intricate details by “ machine “.

How many times are we going to be introduced to this bag?
