I have been sharing more beauty on the site, and one of my recent posts was met with the question of why. Why more beauty? The answer is so easy. What goes inside my bag is as important, if not more important, than the bag itself. My bag carries my treasures, necessities, and absolute must-haves, and I always throw something in there to make me feel special.
Do I need a Chanel Purse Spray? No, but you had better believe that I click on purchase every single time Chanel releases one (which I am begging them to do again soon). Do I wear a lot of makeup? No, but again, you better believe that I am going to be drawn to any set that feels a little extra special because it appears that more detail went into the item.
Most importantly, beauty items are far more accessible. I am not busy buying bags right now; quite the contrary. I am shopping my own closet, using what I have, reviewing my bags in depth on my new Substack, and paying bills. It’s not an extravagant, over-the-top, luxury-filled life over here.
I have plenty; I don’t need more right now, and sometimes, I prefer a little indulgence. And that brings me back to beauty. It’s in my bag, in my makeup bag. I am okay spending on it to have a little something from brands that I love without going all-in.
When I first saw Chanel release these four-hued eyeshadow palettes, I thought to myself, “Hum, totally don’t need it, but I am going to add it to my cart.” Because that makes a lot of sense, right? So I did it, but I didn’t click purchase, and then they sold out.
Today I was perusing Chanel, like any bag lover, and saw that all four colorways are back in stock.
The Chanel Button adds an elegant touch to the House’s fashion designs, and each unique button pattern is used on these eyeshadow palettes to merge the two areas of the House. And since I am not buying a Chanel Tweed Jacket (I do not own one, but I would like one), this is the next best thing.
