When it comes to Chanel, devotees of the brand are incredibly blessed by the sheer number of new collections that drop yearly. Not all brands do pre-collections, and most of the ones that actually offer them don’t offer nearly as large of a selection as Chanel.
Pre-collection bags tend to be more wearable and consumer-friendly than those presented on the runway as part of the main collections. That typically means new iterations, colors and fabrics will adorn some of the brand’s most popular silhouettes, and this year’s fall 2022 pre-collection, which just dropped online and in boutiques, is chock full of very wearable bags.
So while we wait for the runway collection to come in (usually that’s during the first week of September), we’re taking a look at a fresh set of bags imagined by Virginie Viard and the team at Chanel.
This stunning collection features the usual suspects like the Classic Flap and the Chanel 19, alongside the brand’s latest hit, the 22 Bag. The collection oozes a dark glamour, full of seasonal fabrics and colors like velvet, corduroy, and tweed. There is a slew of new silhouettes too, which are sure to thrill even the pickiest of shoppers. Check out our 15 favorites below and discover more now via Chanel.com or in your local boutique.
Something must be wrong, I actually like some of these bags. It’s like Chanel got a new designer or something. I like the small shopping bag the most out of the group, in another color, of course.
I know! I’m shocked by how much I love that small shopping bag. I may have to refresh my relationship with my SA😂🤣
I agree……the small shopping bag is awesome
Right?? Dare I say these bags actually feel fresh and new!
Am I going to shell out 5k+ for corduroy, velvet, tweed or denim bags. Hardly.
Obviously! Gee! You don’t like Chanel. Photos don’t even do these justice, believe me. I’m not even going to bother telling you about the Metier’s D’Art and the Maisons D’Art and the craftsmanship behind the bags-you simply aren’t their target audience. SO please, relax. Secondly if you think the velvet from Chanel or tweed from Chanel is equal to the same from another brand, go for it. No one cares,
Relax, you’re not their target market
Agree! I won’t spend 5K on a bag made out of corduroy. Is Chanel thinking we will buy whatever they come out???
Exactly. That’s just absurd
Yawn. It’s the same bag over and over year after year.
is it just me or this chanel handbags stopped wowing me? i feel its the same bag, same chain, same everything different season. I’m gonna pass on this.
It’s been like this for years
I’m wildly attracted to Chanel bags, but I can’t pull the trigger due to the increase in prices. Gratefully, I bought long before the price increases took effect. Also, lately they have a weird system re: that bags can only be purchased in store. For ex: My SA at Saks in Beverly Hills sent his customers pictures of Chanel bags, but he couldn’t ship them until a week later because they could only be purchased in the boutique. This is the second time Chanel has done this in the past month. This is similar to the games Hermes plays and I’m not interested in “chasing” any bag.
You are so right! They are imitating Hermes + games. What they don’t realize is that not many people that can easily and willingly spend $10-15k on a bag refuse to be insulted or play the games. They don’t have to. There are too many OTHER luxury items to buy. I’ve been buying Chanel bags for 20 years (i.e. high school) and now I’m rejected because I don’t live in a city that has a boutique. Way to treat your life long customers Chanel!
While I have zero desire to get a Chanel bag, having to wait a week or go in person (in 2022) is far from the complete BS games Hermes plays. It’s mildly inconvenient but not really games, we all just got super used to anything and everything being available online or with a phone call due to the pandemic. Again, I understand the inconvenience if you live far from a boutique, but then a week’s wait doesn’t seem terrible vs, again, Hermes just flat-out never selling the bag.
What I didn’t mention was the inconvenience of waiting also meant I couldn’t get a bag my daughter wanted for her 40th birthday as it couldn’t be held & sold out. To me, this was important since it was a milestone birthday. Also, to my knowledge, Chanel hasn’t implemented this policy before, but I could be wrong. 🤷♀️
Love all of these bag. They are all wearable and beautiful. I stopped into Chanel this week to see them in person and ended up buying a light pink flap with hearts on the chain. I wasn’t able to get the heart bag last season and I’m glad I didn’t because I like the one I got even better.
Boring looking bags.
Unimpressed. Nothing new.
Love the small shopping bag. The rest seem to be BAU when it comes to Chanel. Still can’t stomach the astronomical prices, though.
Love most except ……. is that corduroy?
Oh! I like so many of the bags how do you choose?😊
I actually like the bluish gray 19 bag in the ? Corduroy fabric and the green and white tweed. And I’m digging the shopping bag. Seems new and fresh.
Oh I love quite a few of these!!! And the prices don’t feel crazy.
Like #19 and the black studded with pearls
Beautiful. They are definitely out of my financial comfort zone but I’m ok with that. Its nice to see the creativity to keep their high end clients satisfied. I like the sizing variety and chain borders on the bag I’ll stay satisfied with my urban spirit backpack and maybe much later in life I will consider buying something preloved again. The shopping bag reminds me of my bag.
Chanel has certainly gone the route of softer silhouettes lately, with a lot of ‘crumply-ness’ to them. Not my favorite but I can see why they fit with current trends.
