Few fashion-themed movies have ruled the culture zeitgeist quite like the 2006 dramedy The Devil Wears Prada. The film, which is based on novelist Lauren Weisberger’s book of the same name, is largely based on Weisberger’s experience working as an assistant to the editor-in-chief of American Vogue, Anna Wintour.
The film stars some of Hollywood’s greats, including Meryl Streep, who plays the Wintour-inspired Miranda Priestly, and actors Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci. Aside from telling a great (and mostly true) story, the film is known for its incredible fashion.
That fashion is all thanks to costume designer Patricia Field, who put Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs in those iconic Chanel boots.

Iconic Cast Members Reunite Nearly 20 Years Later
Nearly two decades after the film’s first release, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci will reprise their roles in the upcoming sequel, The Devil Wears Prada 2, which just began filming yesterday in New York.
While it remains unclear if Field will return for the sequel, we’re here for whatever fashion the film will bring, and we’ve got our first look at what Andy Sachs 2.0 (or really 3.0—iykyk) will be wearing.
Power Suit Revival: Andy Sachs’ First Look Is All Business
Day one brought with it two chic looks, the first of which can simply be described as a power suit, accessorized with a vintage Coach Metropolitan Brief —we love this for Andy! The look feels almost like a combination of Andy before and after she got Runway-ified.
Hathaway’s character’s next look features a bright, bold $7,900 maxi dress by Gabriela Hearst and a Fendi basket bag. My eagle eyes also noticed that her garment bag reads RUNWAY, which is SO intriguing.
We’re eager to see all of the looks (and bags) on screen—the best is definitely yet to come.
Corporate greed is about to give us a disappointing sequel to a film that didn’t need one.
lol
I can’t wait for thisssss . Every year I keep rewatching at least one.
I LOVE the original and can’t wait to see this one!
LOVE love love love this movie. if they make it, i’ll watch it. i don’t even care if it’s bad
Me too. This is sort of how I felt towards Downton Abbey as well. It’s more of a fan service than a real artistic attempt but why not?
🤣❤️
I can’t wait!!!!
Hollywood, doing what it does best: ruin a perfectly good movie with an unnecessary sequel.
If it was a perfectly good movie it would stand on its own. Nothing that comes years after ruins it.
I love looking at Anne’s clothing but at my age I want to see how they are dressing Meryl.
