Not long ago, I shared that I have become a Swiftie – thanks to my 7-year-old daughter and my reticent but newfound appreciation for her music. The major hype surrounding her relationship with NFL Superbowl Champion Travis Kelce only furthered the media hype surrounding her superstardom.
While Taylor is known for many of her insane talents, her fashion choices aren’t typically what defines her. And, I want to loudly shout – that is OK. It’s actually what I also appreciate about her; with the copious amount of money she has and every brand would dream of working with her, her choices are straightforward, accessible, and more relatable.
Her handbag choices mirror her overall fashion aesthetic – more under the radar. I was incredibly excited to see her spotted carrying the Joseph Duclos Diane Messenger Bag while on a date with Travis in Malibu, CA, this past weekend.
Quiet Luxury
Travis Kelce is a loud fashion fanatic who embraces trends and logos and is overtly playful and intense with what he wears and carries. Taylor, on the other hand, has typically opted for a more demure and low-key appearance.
When spotted leaving Nobu Malibu, we found Taylor wearing a preppy look. A pleated skirt from Sandy Liang, Reformation loafers, which are a closet staple for TSwift, a light blue sweater, and the bag was the cherry on top. This is where we spotted her opting for the Joseph Duclos Diane Crossbody.

Probably the most notable design from the house under Ramesh Nair, Creative Director, the Diane Bag is defined by the iconic clasp sitting front and center, along with the elegant cut and natural leather. The name pays homage to the hunting goddess and celebrates strength yet natural femininity, like her.
The messenger style offers an easy and more casual appeal to a distinguished design. You can carry it on the arm or over the shoulder; overall dimensions are 9.4 x 6.7 x 3.1 inches.
Another note about the leather on this bag: it’s composed of heritage calf, a semi-vegetable leather without finishing, which allows it to patina over time.
