Suddenly, Select Celebs Love Celine Again

Chanel, Hermès and Louis Vuitton always dominate celeb tastes, but the 4th and 5th most popular labels vary from year to year and season to season (and even Louis Vuitton’s 3rd place slot has not always been as rock solid as it is in 2020). For several years, Celine was absolutely in the top 5, but it had close competition from Dior, Saint Laurent, Gucci and Givenchy. Occasionally, Chloé, Valentino or Balenciaga might squeeze in for a bit. But on this day in bag history, celebs are carrying Celine in a way that suggests to me that Celine is making a play for the top 5 once more. Kaitlin recently wrote that brand loyalty is hard to hold on to amidst big designer exits and entrances, and that is certainly true. But Celine’s may be on the upswing.
