We get it, she is pretty and has a deal w RL, but why do u have to keep profiling this at best mediocre bag? Just because its an American designer?

I agree. Unless it has superior construction or superior materials, for that price I have choices. I’ll go with a “bigger” name.

I feel like if RL had been patient with their price increase and waited a bit more, more people would have jumped on the RL wagon and with more popularity it would’ve elevated the brand; which in turn would have justified price increases.
Theyre trying to follow the premier designer crowd a bit to closely, they need to give it some room to breathe and evolve into the premier brand it can be.

I normally don’t find myself attracted to white handbags, but i think the RL Ricky bag in white looks lovely. Emmy definitely wears the bag well, her polished, classic style makes the bag look even better. I do think it is overpriced though, it the prices started at around US $1500 i would buying one, as it is very chic.

The reason that it starts at $2500 is so that it will remain exclusive, which is actually how one goes about elevating their brand. Ralph Lauren does not follow the premier designer crowd, he pioneered it. You’d all better stick with Louis – I’ll rock my Ricky forever.
I bought a black calfskin Ricky with red leather lining and silver hardware in ’08 that is still going strong. IMHO it’s a beautiful bag that’s underrated — perhaps b/c it’s American and we automatically associate luxury/quality with European brands?
