Bottega Veneta’s a Collection of Objects Reveals Its Spring 2021 Collection

Better late than never...

When Daniel Lee burst onto the scene at Bottega Veneta he took the fashion world by storm. Over 2 years later he continues to make waves, helping Bottega Veneta to see continued success despite a year filled with so much uncertainty. And in a move that is completely unsurprising, Lee chose to forgo the digital show format adapted by many other luxury brands this year for something much more interesting. While other brands are releasing looks at their pre-fall 2021 collections, Bottega Veneta is finally giving us a look at its intimate spring 2021 show which secretly took place in October, according to Vogue, as well as a glimpse at what goes on behind the scenes.

The presentation includes various objects that all tell a story of this latest collection, which is a continuation of resort 2021. The 3-part book series includes a backstage look at what it takes to design a collection from the process of design to Lee’s sources of inspiration, complete with a front and backstage look at the physical presentation that took place earlier this fall. A recording of the soundtrack from the event finished off the collection of objects, all meant to give a unique, intimate look at Lee’s creative process.

As for the collection itself, Lee’s use of bold, beautiful colors continues from the RTW right down to the accessories. And speaking of accessories, this collection was created with continuity in mind, and the bags are meant to be paired and matched season after season. The Triangle Bag continues to be a push this season, appearing in a crochet-knit finish in stunning pastels of pink, purple, blue and neon yellow. I’m not a fan of any of these bags

aaa

I’ll pass…….I do love the older bags but not these.

Super disappointing. The triangle could be doable if it didn’t have that awkward leather strap that cheapens the whole bag. They keep trying to do another variation of The Pouch but it’s never going to be as perfect as the original. I’ll stick with the pre-SS21 collection. Very happy that I added The Clip and the newer version of the mini Jodie bag to my wardrobe when I did.

Marcy697

How do you like the mini Jodie? It seems so small I’m not sure how much can really fit in there but it’s SO beautiful.

I love it! It holds quite a bit as well, don’t let the size fool you. All the essentials and more!

It sucks. I can’t even fit my phone in there without jamming it in at an angle. No wearable.

Bwahahahahaha… Daniel Lee should just go to other brands. These look cheap and ugly.

I like the colors of the crochet bags for spring (even if they’re nothing unique), but hate the crochet itself. It’s very dated and looks like something an old lady would use. Even the crochet dresses are awful.

so disappointing after a strong performance last season! can someone please explain to me what the actual F they were thinking with photographs of a parking lot??

I purchased a Nanette Lepore metallic knit bag, made with a frame closure, that reminds me of the knitted triangle here. I went to Rome, Italy and visited Vatican City. The Italian women complimented my bag and all wanted to touch it! The knitting is beautiful. They were in awe of my bag! Purchase my Lepore bag at Saks on sale for less than $200 and so happy I kept it. I absolutely love my version!

I actually like the Triangle bag, not in the crochet, but in leather. It’s oddly appealing with the shoulder strap and handle. Also, it’s uniqueness comes from the fact that it’s not a bag that is seen on many people.
