Red is a very lucky color in certain cultures; did you know Italians believe in wearing red underwear on New Year’s Eve? And the reason why red is so prevalent during Lunar New Year is because it is a symbol of good fortune and joy. Red is one of my favorite handbag colors, not to mention, who wouldn’t want to walk around with a little bit of luck in hand?
It’s one of those colors that comes up every few years, and this season (and for spring and beyond), red is back. Certain brands perfect that ideal red hue more than others, and red is one of those colors that will never go completely out of trend in the way that other colors can (and do, like neons or pastels).

Love a red bag…I have a top handle muse saint Laurent version from back in the day but I find I just don’t reach for it very often. The Le Maillon above is perfect though.
