Few fashion seasons have been as exciting as the Spring 2026 season, which featured a record number of big designer debuts! This season was highly anticipated here at PurseBlog too, making it one of the most fun for us to dissect and cover from many angles.
Today we’re looking back at the runways, unpacking some of our favorite bags from the major European debuts we saw during the Spring 2026 season, starting with Bottega Veneta. Andiamo!
Bottega Veneta
Louise Trotter’s Bottega Veneta offered an array of new bags, from classic intrecciato, to eye-catching exoitcs, and more. While she opted to focus on the Bottega Veneta Lauren clutch, introducing new and exciting proportions, this chic, ladylike frame bag caught our attention the most.

Balenciaga
At Balenciaga for Spring 2026, Pierpaolo Piccioli brought Le City back to the runway, though without any major updates it’s hard to consider it a newbie. This shoulder bag, with its edgy hardware and exaggerated straps screams cool girl and was our favorite of his debut collection.

Celine
Michael Rider made his debut back in July during resort season with his co-ed collection, which was dubbed Spring 2026 per brand language. His sophomore collection, which was shown during fashion month, was labeled as summer 2026.
Rider expertly combines that French je ne sai quoi with touches of classic Americana. The standout of Spring? The return of the Celine Luggage.

Chanel
Arguably, one of the most anticipated shows of the season was Matthieu Blazy’s debut for Chanel, and while this collection’s RTW felt stronger overall than the bags and accessories, we could not take our eyes off of the giant suede bowler toted on the runway.
A close second? The many maxi flaps carried throughout.

Dior
Jonathan Anderson spent over a decade at Loewe’s helm, completely transforming the House, so naturally his debut at Dior was highly anticipated. We loved everything from the Y2K-coded denim minis to his intricate draping and incredible attention to detail.
As for the bags, this ladylike top handle, sealed with a bow, cleverly utilizes its handle’s rivets as the O in D-I-O-R. It was shown in a variety of colors as well as both smooth leather and exotics.

Gucci
Forgoing a show this season, Demna debuted his vision for Gucci in lookbook format for Spring 2026, with a more formal runway debut slated for February. The collection offers a modern interpretation of some of Gucci’s most storied House codes, so Demna of course opted to include many of the classics, and we love his soft, slouchy take on the Jackie.

Loewe
The Americans have officially touched down in Paris, and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez certainly brought hints of modern Americana to Loewe for Spring 2026.
One of our favorite bags of the Spring 2026 season was the duo’s interpretation of the iconic Loewe Amazona bag. This relaxed, effortlessly cool carry is called the Amazona 180.

Versace
While Prada Group is still in the process of acquiring Versace, with the deal expected to close later this year, Dario Vitale lays out his vision for the Italian House. The new Versace is colorful, modern, and cool, drawing inspiration from the beaches of Miami and the Mediterranean Sea, while paying homage to Versace’s heritage.
This sleek leather lady bag is roomy enough for daily carry without sacrificing style. It made its debut on Julia Roberts’s arm earlier this year, and it is likely going to be a big push, quickly establishing itself as a new icon for the House.

I might be in the minority but the Dior and Versace are my favourites based on visual impressions.
I agree!
That fuchsia suede Balenciaga is gorgeous!!!
