You all know that I’m an Alexander McQueen fangirl, but I love the entire line just as much as I love the company’s accessories. I’m particularly fond of the artistic direction that McQueen’s ads have taken since his company changed hands following his tragic passing, and the Fall 2011 ad campaign is yet another reassurance that Sarah Burton was the right choice to lead the brand. The ball gown above is just as astonishing in photography as it was in the fall runway show, which means that it’s the object of my lust for this week’s Want It Wednesday. Two more campaign images after the jump.
WOW!
whoa!
I’m quite pleased with the ifnoratmion in this one. TY!
The first poster is too fabulous for mere mortal words. The other two remind me of the stance men take when they’re trying to separate their junk from their thighs. Edgy yes. But not in the good way.
Love the campaign but the shoes are awful. Reminds of me of Japanese foot-binding in its way: sacrificing common sense for fashion.
I love the shoes, but I don’t expect or require common sense from McQueen. His clothes were always about fantasy and art, and Sarah Burton has taken the baton and run with it impressively. Common sense just gets in the way sometimes.
you mean Chinese foot-binding?
and those shoes aren’t flattering either.
That dress is STUNNING!!
Sheer Beauty that is McQueen!! Sarah B., continue to do the house you have served for over 15 years proud!! I am so excited for this collection, and the SS 2012!! Blow me away yet again!!!! ;-D
McQueen is not my style. However, I do love the darkness of the ads.
But in the first picture, that’s a whole lotta dress.
Oh my God! The cover gown is just stunning! I’m not sure who could carry this off but the craftsmanship.
I think that’s the dress (the 1st pic) that Anne Hathaway wore for her editorial in Harpers Bazaar, the details are stunning!
I met a hot girl on richmatching.c o m, and she is glad to see me this week, the life is so beautiful!! haha!
The last ad is so edgey ! Very modern Gothic warrior 🙂 Cool !
