A couple of years ago, I mused that it was time Chloé had a renaissance. I wished for a return to the brand’s popularity in the 2010s, craving its unmistakably girly, bohemian aesthetic, and that’s precisely what I got when Chemena Kamali made her runway debut for the Fall 2024 season.
Kamali’s debut was undeniably reminiscent of past Chloé, oozing the distinct, innately feminine Parisian appeal that Gaby Aghion, Chloé’s founder, was known for. Models floated down the runway in light, flowy garments that featured the Maison’s distinct codes.
As for the bags, there is a return to a lived-in appeal, with shapes utilizing soft, naturally tanned leather that offers an effortless, cool-girl vibe. The current line-up includes shapes both new and old (who can forget the beloved Paraty Bag), but it’s the Chloé Camera Bag I keep coming back to.
Classic Chloé With a Casual Edge
I was once the epitome of a #ChloéGirl. My style was extremely feminine and slightly equestrian with a hint of BoHo. Around that time, I began my career in luxury, interning and then freelancing at Chloé’s New York office, which is why Chloé’s new era is so incredibly exciting to me.
Unlike our boho queen, Sienna Miller, I’m not a boho girl through and through, and my style has changed dramatically over the last decade. Still, the Chloé Camera Bag keeps drawing me in. IMO, it fully captures the unmistakable feel of Chloé with a less feminine, more edgy appeal.
It’s a bag I could easily see adding to my rotation, and I love that the cargo pockets add a bit of a sporty edge. Offering a utilitarian, grab-and-go ease of wear, it’s perfect for daily use. Its leather is meant to nicely patina over time, and the shape also offers a hint of history, with revamped buckles nodding to the beloved Chloé Paddington bag.
The bag is offered in three sizes: small, classic, and large. I’m most interested in the classic size. Prices start at $2,350. Discover more via Chloé.
I have not purchased a Chloé bag in over 10 years (approximately the time they started to Marc Jacobs-ify their brand by tackily slapping their logo across everything they made), but thank God for Chemena Kamali because I am drawn in again and the bags are stunning! She perfectly blends her perspectives as well as the history of Chloé in her designs.
Those pockets on the side remind me of the Silverado! Very cute
Reminds me of my high school handbags. I am 70 years old now. Not crazy about the
“new” look at all, sorry!
To me it’s unoriginal ~ like a Prada bag from maybe 8 years ago. I can’t remember the name.
