Loving Lately: Designer Pouches

For when you want to grab, and go, in style

Since moving and reassessing my collection I’ve been making a conscious effort to both switch out my bags frequently and use more of what I have. This summer, I’ve fallen back in love with a bag I had to have when it was first introduced, my Mansur Gavriel Bucket Bag. I’ve been using it a ton, favoring it because it fits everything that my mini bags fit and then some. I can even ditch my second daily carry, a canvas tote, in favor of throwing my notebook and whatever novel I’m reading into my MG bag as well. And as I’ve redeveloped a love for this old favorite, I’ve also realized that I’m ready to purchase a designer pouch.

Prior to this summer, I never felt the need to splurge on a pouch, but when I began using my MG bucket bag and the pouch that comes with it, I realized how functional they really are. Even when I switch out my bag, the MG pouch remains in my rotation. If I’m running out to grab coffee or go to the drugstore I grab the pouch alone, and inside I’ll put my debit card, ID, cell phone and keys. When I’m heading out to read a book or work on my laptop outside, I’ll toss the pouch into my canvas tote without the need for a mini bag too. It also works well in my Speedy bags as a quick way to locate my phone or keys which can easily get lost inside. I’m currently in the market for a good pouch that’s a little bit larger than the one I have, and I’ve got my eyes on the below. Are you a long-time pouch lover or a recent convert like me?

Pouches are always chic

I don’t know why I never was into them before!

I just recently got into pouches. I bought a Coach black leather tablet pouch a year ago and used it to hold my iPad for a while. Then I purchased a Coach Field Tote 40 and I needed something to keep my valuables like key pouch, wallet, phone and sunnies safe from all the other random stuff I have in my bag. Enter tablet pouch.
I also carry the pouch on its own if I don’t need my bigger handbag. I thought I’d never be the one to carry a large pouch in the crook of my arm, but it actually works well with a large, flat pouch.

I have a few pouches, I haven’t splurged on any. The one that I have that gets the most use is a Marc Jacobs for Target sparkly rose gold pouch that is so old. I remember wanting it when the collection launched and couldn’t justify the splurge. It ended up going on clearance and I got it for like $20. It is a little bit distressed now, but honestly still looks pretty good.

And at this point it is the perfect blend of carefree and fun. https://poshmark.com/listing/NIN-Marc-Jacobs-Metallic-Pouch-Rose-Gold-5df8f7f0b3e91755603189f8
