Tan, which was spring’s biggest neutral, will still be going strong into fall, but it’s got another gorgeous shade joining it for the cooler weather: burgundy. Wine-colored bags have been popular for fall for a few years running now, and it’s not exactly difficult to see why.
Depending on the shade you go with, these bags can either be a shade off red or just shy of brown, but all the hues have a richness befitting fall’s knits and textures. Below, we’ve assembled a shopping guide to the season’s finest wines, including both new designs and old favorites rendered in this fall-perfect color starting as low as $198.
Loving the Chloe Drew.
The Antigona is so pretty in burgundy! I like the Drew bag too!
Like the padlock shape of the Chloe Drew.
I love the exaggerated zipper on the Tom Ford.
The Tom Ford Sedgwick crossbody clutch is interesting! New features: an oversized zipper with a discreetly stamped brand logo and crisp, slight tapering – love it!
What’s up with Nordstrom? Do they now specialize in cheap China-made stuff like this sad Vince embossed croc? Thought they were an upscale outfit… not anymore I guess.
I agree. I’ve seen Nordstrom slide downhill the past few years. They carry contemporary brand handbags in my city. No high end designers.
That Vince is positively awful. Looks like something a street vendor would sell. ????

I think you should have mentiones the LV Amarante in vernis! its so gorgeous! love the balenciaga.
LOVE the Maison Margiela tote, Slide/12.
Gorgeous. I want it!
I’m really intrigued by this bag, too!! But I wonder how it would look in person. It looks like it could either look like a classic with a twist if the leather is sumptuous. Otherwise it could look cheap fast.
The two Alexanders get my vote! The Alexander McQueen Legend bag is a catchy alternative to the more popular Antigona. The Alexander Wang bag is a bigger shoulder bag than I thought at first glance. I just wish the black flap wasn’t calf hair — the appeal of calf hair on a bag has completely eluded me.
I like the Wang and Lim bags. The E&J remind me of a Dooney that I already own.
That Alexander McQueen bag is speaking to me. I like the cute but not overdone bow tie hardware and it looks like it would hold quite a bit.
That oversized zipper on the Tom Ford is gorgeous and fun!
And, I need some personal time to get the designers at Prada back on track. Are they just phoning it in now? C’mon! This bag looks like every bag they’ve done for the past umpteen years! Please, give them a RedBull! They need to put some round the clock time into delivering more interesting design.
Oh no no, my rouge rockstud awaits me this fall. 🙂
I love the Balenciaga Papier tote, Chloe Drew and Givenchy Antigona in burgundy. I think the Tom Ford bag with the oversized zipper detailing is really cool, but i’m sure that bag will fit absolutely nothing inside. I would love to add a Balenciaga Papier tote to my collection.
LOVE LOVE LOVE that McQueen. Gosh!
Am such a sucker for YSL.
