There are plenty of legitimate ways to celebrate a new season, but over the past couple years, it seems like handbag brands have come to a tentative agreement that their favorite way to do it is with a new print. It gives consumers’ favorite bags a sense of seasonality that a new release of colors doesn’t quite capture, and it creates a de facto limited edition that feels urgent.
Louis Vuitton launched its summer prints a couple days ago, and they’re definitely warm weather appropriate. The spots and palm fronds splash across monogram canvas and vernis leather bags and luggage, as well as some small leather goods and scarves. The bright primary colors lighten up the normally heavy feel of the monogram canvas, which is perfect for summer. Check out Vuitton’s lookbook below.

LV prints are always too in-your-face for me.
That said, something strangely appealing about #5.
I can’t stand these. Sorry, I feel like I’m being trolled by LV with these.
I highly doubt I will purchase it but the open tote is sure cute! I love the blast of color! The print on the open tote is fun for summer and from what I can tell in the pic does not scream LV logo canvas.

I like what Gucci is doing much more than this LV. Gucci’s Tian prints are actually pretty-this is a little off somehow. I guess the colors don’t work for me.

I am absolutely not a fan of LV and usually hate anything monogram, but I LOVE this print. Maybe it is because I love both, red and pink and with the palm print it feels so summery. So I got the cosmetic bag and am currently on waitlist for the poche toilette. Most probably these two items will remain my only LV purchases in my entire life.
I agree but it looks like we are in the minority. I also agree with the positive Gucci comments. I owned an LV bucket bag with the cherries years ago and it felt dated to me quickly. That would be my hesitation in purchasing this design.

I like the back pack in pink/red combo. I almost buy it but decided against it since I feel like I’m too old to wear a backpack..
I saw the Speedy a few weeks ago in my local LV store and thought it was appealing. However, I need to think strategically with my bag budget and since I already have a Gucci Boston Supreme bag in the Tian print, I gave this one a pass. I do like it though; if I didn’t already have the Tian and was looking for an everyday fun bag in canvas, I’d consider it.
These prints gave me a mini-seizure!
