Fashion Week is a lot of fun, but it's also a lot of work, even though most members of the media try to make it look like one glam fete after another. There are indeed some fun parties to attend, but you'll be going to them after more than a full day of work, and after a few days, that can wear on a person. When you combine that with the fact that Fashion Week is an occasion on which everyone is expected to look their best, what you put in your makeup bag becomes important. After a few seasons of trial and error, I've found a couple of items that are an absolute must-carry, including my all-time favorite liquid liner and dry shampoo, which both retail for six bucks or less.

Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara
$30 via Saks
I've been using this mascara since college, and even when I give another a shot, I always go back to it - it wears forever and makes your lashes look long, lush and jet black.

NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer
$29 via Bloomingdale's
Covers dark spots and discoloration like a champ, as well as Fashion Week eye bags. The in-bottle applicator makes it ideal for reapplying after a full day of shows.

Not Your Mother's Clean Freak Dry Shampoo
$4.74 via WalMart
The only dry shampoo that's ever worked for me; shake it well, let it sit on your hair for a minute and brush it out. It can extend a blowout by not just one day, but several.

NARS Cruella Velvet Matte Lip Pencil
$25 via Sephora
Not pink, not orange, just pure, scarlet red, and in a chubby pencil that makes it easy to reapply under less-than-ideal conditions.

NYX Collection Noir Liquid Eyeliner
$5.99 via ULTA
It takes a little while to set on the lid, but this liner is inky black, totally opaque and streak-free. The ultra-thin brush makes it easy to create a subtle look or build coverage into something far more dramatic.

Mario Badescu Ceramide Eye Gel
$18 via Nordstrom
Absolutely everyone feels puffy by the end of Fashion Week, but a little dab of this stuff under the eyes helps a ton.

TOYKOMILK DARK No. 79 Destiny Rollerball Perfume
$22 via Sephora
I always feel a little stinky by the end of a work day, even if I'm not, and a purse-size rollerball makes reapplying perfume in the presence of others a little bit less rude.
