Fendi’s Spring 2016 Runway Bags are Exactly as Good as You Were Hoping

Fendi has had something of an incredible run over the past few years. The brand’s bags have been popular since the days of the Baguette, but lately the Italian design house has shown a fantastic knack for anticipating trends and sparking new ones.

For Spring 2016, Fendi continues down that same road, with a dark-hued theme-and-variations on some of the brand’s favorite shapes, plus an expansion of the new, Peekaboo-esque top handle it debuted for Resort 2016. Many of the bags are embellished with oversized rivets or whipstitching, and there were plenty of Fendi’s new sold-separately straps on display.

Check out the bags below and let us know what you think.

I love that Fendi is consistent. I personally would not buy any of these except maybe Slide 7, but this over-the-topness without being tacky is what I’ve come to expect from Fendi runways.

E Cooper

I can’t even begin to think how much these might cost.

Nadine

Agreed. Kaiser Karl seems to be chasing Hermes status for both Chanel and Fendi smh

Sparky

My thoughts exactly but if i come across a genie I’ll wish for 2, 4, 14, 22, 23, 24, and 27. Granted that’s more than three wishes….

Lori

I think these are amazing. So creative and original.

FashionableLena

I love bag #4. Some of the straps look a little bulky.

I would venture to say that the prices will start around $3500-$4000.

klynneann

Crap, I think I need a second job lol.

pinkngreenpurse

Interesting…..the Spring 2015 Coach collection has numerous bags with flowers all over them too….

Elisa

These go with everything!!! Love the versatility of the styles and colors – and I love, love, love 3-D daisies!!!

The chunky whip stitching and braided straps look really fresh. Indeed all the artful shoulder straps, which seems to be the next trend in adding interest to bags, look luxe and expensive. I really like #23.

Bianca Mosca

As usual the Kaiser has knocked the proverbial nail on the head. A combination of outstanding design, quirkiness and peerless quality of construction. The whimsicality and it’s perfect execution reminds us that we are the hands of a fashion legend.

Actually the accessories are the work of Silva (and if history repeats itself in the future some big unknown young designer like Frida, Pier Paolo and Maria Grazia) although Karl must definitely be part of the process

Smithy

They’re mostly all very beautiful but there are only 3 that I would purchase (if I had the dough).

Kylee

#15, I like the ruched leather

Jess

Wow I’m really impressed. I had gone off Fendi. But these are stunning. Slide 6, 12 and 15 … my birthday is 9 November if anybody is reading! Ha.

Jess

Do you think you can get any letter sewn into the bag, like they’ve done with the ‘A’? Taking queues from Burberry and getting into personalisation.

hectorrobertocontrerasmiranda

Yes they can but the letters are woven, they can put multiple character or events some images like in some of the bags for the spring 2015 men’s collection and they been doing it for several seasons now, I believe since spring 2014

Kel

I’m loving Fendi and this collection is beautiful, in my opinion. Not too over the top but still interesting and very wearable.

Mary Eastman

i agree you cannot beat the quality of a Fendi handbag http://largepurseshop.com/FendiBags

JaneH

Love the texture and details on most of the bags.

Suzanne

Still a little busy for me, but they look very luxe and I think there’s a cohesiveness to the collection.

FK A

If I won the lottery, I’d definitely get #5, #15 and #30. Just the right amount of quirky

Vbogaert

Love, love, love.

Jerri R

Those shoulder straps with pointed spiky decorations make me shudder to think how it would feel if the strap got accidentally flipped before you plop it on your shoulder.

Newyorking

I love this collection. The weaves though are too big for me and I would never buy a bag with so many embellishments, but overall it is a nice take on the Boston bag. I really like some of them. I just wish Fendi did more cross body, those are the only bags I use. Perhaps Fendi can reduce the bulk for retail. Fendi is one of the most innovative brands, and while all their bags are not attractive or “buyable”, Fendi still brings it in terms of innovation and have creative takes on classic looks.

Sparkletastic

I really don’t like these. There is too much of everything. They just look tacky to me.

Manar El-Zanaty

I love the collection and the straps. Do you guys know when are they going to hit the stores?

carefulincole

I think the idea of eyelets with stitch on the front panel (#13, #20) is just too much and too busy… maybe the width between eyelets should not so close or just cancel the stitch…

W S M

Wow. Amazing bags. If not Hermes, at the very least they’re reaching for Botega level. I love Slide 15 (though in a smaller, more manageable size) and all the crossbody Baguettes.

Dwightinha

I like this collection. Fendi is obviously back and stepping up their game after the big wave of Fendi B and the Spy bag.

Leila

I hope Fendi dont ever stop to produce the tradicional selleria as it was , is , and should never finish to be

Alice Peter

very Beautiful 2016 Fendi handbags

Stephanie Cai

Fendi Dotcom looks amazing with the shoulder straps and the weaves. If you go with the regular dotcom, its just a rectangle box, but with these embellishments, so expensive.
