New York Fashion Week closes today, and although we’ve still got a bit of coverage left to come (The best bags, shoes and street style of the week? Stay tuned.), we’re going to start by looking at what was on the arms of the week’s most glamorous guests, including models, style bloggers, magazine editors and movie stars.
In the past, celebrities at NYFW have slavishly stuck to the bags of the shows they were attending, but this season, things loosened up a little bit. That resulted in a better range of bags than we’ve seen in a while, with plenty of seasonal favorites and classic pieces alike. Check out all that we found below.
Aimee Song
Chloé Inez Studded Bag
$2,350 via Barneys
Some bags look great in stock photos, but this is a design whose appeal I didn’t understand until I saw it on a living, breathing human. (In this case, Aimee, blogger extraordinaire.)
Aimee Song
Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Clutch
$5,750 via Louis Vuitton
It’s good news for Louis Vuitton’s longstanding image-remake efforts that its seasonal designs are catching on with style bloggers.
Alicia Quarles
From a distance, I thought this was a Christian Louboutin Sweet Charity Bag, but up close, it’s definitely not. Got any ideas?
Blake Lively
Chanel Flap Bag
Blake might not do that many movies any more, but she sure as hell looks like a movie star nearly all the time.
Blake Lively
Chanel Boy Bag
Blake was spotted in this outfit only a couple hours after the one above. See? Move star.
Calli & Sam Beckerman
Moschino Bags
Shop Moschino via Neiman Marcus
If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. So I’ll just be over here with my Diet Coke.
Cara Santana
Diane von Furstenberg Flirty Crossbody Bag
Shop via Amazon Fashion
“Flirty” does indeed seem like a good name for a bag adorned with a big pair of lips.
Caroline Vreeland
Your suspicions are correct: Caroline is indeed related to fashion legend Diana Vreeland. (She’s Diana’s great granddaughter, to be exact.)
Charli XCX
Coach Swagger 20 Bag
$350 via Coach
Charli was one of 16,000 people who attended the lengthy Yeezy Season 3/album release party at Madison Square Garden.
Chiara Ferragni
Chanel Boy Bag
Despite the fact that temperatures were in the single digits on this particular day, Chiara seemed absolutely opposed to outwear of any kind.
Chloë Grace Moretz
Coach Rogue Bag
$795 via Coach
Chloë’s exact bag is available to order for a very limited time directly from Coach, even though it’s part of the brand’s Fall 2016 collection.
Chloé Sevingy
Gucci GG Marmont Bag
$2,300 via Gucci
One of my favorite things about this fashion week was that more stars carried things from their personal collections than samples loaned from the brand for the occasion.
Chriselle Lim
Chriselle’s bag looks familiar, but we can’t place it.
Diane Kruger
Jason Wu Diane Shoulder Bag
$1,495 via Shopbop
Well. Must be nice to have designer bags named after you.
Dree Hemingway
Coach Rogue Bag
Shop via Coach
I’ve gotten to play with the Rogue in person, and I can vouch for it being totally great–detailed, functional and expensive-feeling.
Ece Sükan
Mansur Gavriel Lady Bag
$750 via Moda Operandi
If you’re not familiar with Ece, she’s the editor-at-large for Vogue Turkey.
Ece Sükan
Saint Laurent Monogramme Camera Bag
$995 via Net-a-Porter
For a Vogue editor, her bag choices are pleasantly functional and attainable. (Relatively, anyway.)
Elsa Hosk
Chanel Beaded Flap Bag
My favorite fun fact about Victoria’s Secret favorite Elsa Hosk is that before she moved to the US to model, she was a pro basketball player in her native Sweden.
Emma Miller
Victoria Beckham Zipper Pouch
$895 via Stylebop
Emma looks like an actress to me and I assumed she was one for a long time, but she’s actually a British fashion blogger.
Emma Roberts
Coach Dinky Calf Hair Floral Bag
$595 via Coach
For some reason, I find it super charming that this bag is called a Dinky.
Emmy Rossum
Ralph Lauren Attaché Bag
$2,500 via Ralph Lauren
Normally I’d assume this is a Mark Cross bag, but because of Emmy’s longstanding relationship with Ralph Lauren, I’m betting its the just-launched Attaché.
Erica Pelosini Leeman
Hermès Kelly Bag
If you are not familiar with Erica, I highly recommend these photos from her 2015 wedding in Capri.
Eva Chen
Chanel Flap Bag
If you haven’t been keeping up with your industry gossip, Eva has left editorial work to be the head of fashion partnerships at Instagram.
Gigi Hadid
Fendi DotCom Bag
$2,900 via Bergdorf Goodman
The more I see this new Fendi bag, the more I like it.
Glenda Bailey
Valentino My Rockstud Bag
$3,045 via Neiman Marcus
I’m always happy when the paparazzi catch a couple true industry veterans in the Fashion Week scrum, like longtime Harper’s Bazaar editor Glenda Bailey.
Hanneli Mustaparta
I think this bag might be Eddie Borgo, but I’m not totally sure. Whatever it is, it’s gorgeous.
Irina Shayk
Givenchy Antigona Bag
$2,280 via Saks
Irina is giving excellent supermodel face here.
Jamie Chung
Kate Spade Cedar Street Cami Convertible Bag
$148 via Amazon Fashion
I’m gonna let you in on a little secret: the Kate Spade show is always super fun because it’s one of the few that serves hors d’oeuvres (and they’re always really good).
Jasmine Tookes
Louis Vuitton Pallas Chain Bag
$2,260 via Louis Vuitton
It seems like more models get invited to fashion shows than walk in fashion shows at this point.
Jessica Hart
Saint Laurent Sac de Jour Bag
$3,490 via Net-a-Porter
Case in point.
June Ambrose
Tom Ford Natalia Clutch
$4,490 via Net-a-Porter
June Ambrose is always a good bet for a dramatic hat moment.
Justine Skye
Justine was exiting the Jeremy Scott show, so the odds are good that this bag is from one of those two lines. (And really, where else would it be from?)
Karlie Kloss
Diane von Furstenberg Secret Agent Bag
$398 via Amazon Fashion
Before Diane von Furstenberg’s show, she hosted a lounge with a whole gang of supermodels dancing around and, well, casually being supermodels, I guess. Karlie was among them.
Karlie Kloss
Louis Vuitton Petite Malle Clutch
$5,200 via Louis Vuitton
I am personally in favor of the Petite Malle’s success because it looks like I could actually fit my phone in it.
Katie Cassidy
Hermès Birkin
Because most Fashion Week outfits are put together by stylists for maximum photographic impact, you don’t see a whole lot of big ol’ Birkins in street style pics.
Kendall Jenner
Givenchy Nightingale Bag
$2,694 via Neiman Marcus
This bag is a full season old and this is the first time Kendall’s ever been spotted with it, so part of me thinks she just, like, forgot she had it when it got buried under a pile of other gratis Givenchy stuff.
Lil Kim
Chanel Boy Bag
Kanye’s guest list was easily one of the most entertaining of the entire week.
Lily Aldridge
Saint Laurent Sac de Jour Tote
$2,790 via Saks
Credit where credit is due: this is a very cool matte embossed croc treatment on this SDJ.
Liu Wen
Tory Burch Serif T Shoulder Bag
$450 via Tory Burch
I always appreciate an over-the-shoulder shot because it helps get a clear look at the bag.
Mary Elizabeth Winstead
Rebecca Minkoff Heavy Laced Tote
Shop via Rebecca Minkoff
The tote version of the Heavy Laced line hasn’t debuted in stores quite yet, but its hobo and crossbody compatriots are ready to purchase.
Miroslava Duma
Hermès Plume Bag
In at least one sense, Kanye West is a miracle worker: he got European fashion luminaries to shop up to NYFW on the first day. (Usually they wait for the bigger shows later in the week.)
Nicky Hilton
Diane von Furstenberg Lip Print Clutch
Shop Diane von Furstenberg via Amazon Fashion
As someone who also has a faux fur leopard coat, I really recommend everyone add one to his or her closet with fall. Wearing it is so fun.
Nicky Hilton
Edie Parker Trunk Clutch
$1,795 via Saks
This phone is part of the Alice + Olivia Fall 2016 set, and personally I think Nicky is a very good sport for pretending to talk on it for the cameras.
Nicky Hilton
Moschino Chain Shoulder Bag
$1,695 via Neiman Marcus
She’s also a good sport for showcasing a designer friend’s clothes sans coat in the snow.
Nicky Hilton
I’m not 100% sure, but I’m assuming this bag is Thomas Wylde because that’s the show Nicky was attending. (Did you know Thomas Wylde was still a thing? Me neither.)
Samantha Angelo
Chanel Boy Bag
Samantha is a style blogger now, but before that, she was a US Marine who played clarinet in the Marine Corps Band.
Selita Ebanks
If you recognize this bag, let us know in the comments.
Skyler Samuels
Les Petits Joueurs Alex Mini Satchel
$980 via Neiman Marcus
Skyler is next in the long line of child stars who are now old enough to attend fashion shows.
Skyler Samuels
Les Petits Joueurs Grace Boss Clutch
$630 via Saks
She was everywhere this week.
Solange Knowles
Mansur Gavriel Circle Bag
$1,095 via Moda Operandi
Solange is the type of woman who makes other women want to make stylistic choices that they most likely will not pull off, which is among the highest compliments I can pay a person.
Taylor Hill
Prada Galleria Tote
$2,350 via Bergdorf Goodman
In a sea of carefully coordinated clutches, sometimes you just need a reliable, functional tote bag.
