The news of Alessandro Michele joining Valentino as the Creative Director was fashion music to my ears. Michele proved his ability to not only make a name for himself but also make a brand that is most coveted in the fashion world. And now it’s Valentino’s turn.
I’ve been anxiously awaiting the maximalist design elements Alessandro will bring to Valentino. With its own set of house codes and Alessandro’s touch, there is a new sense of excitement for what’s to come.
The first collection of Valentino bags under his direction is available on-site and being carried by the bag-loving world. Earlier this week, Valentino showed its Haute Couture collection in Paris, and we were there to spot the bags on the attendees.
Embroidery, Patterns and Colors
Alessandro Michele is known for prints, patterns, and colors, and all of these were seen outside (and on) the runway. The ideal sense of fashion for every individual is what speaks to them, and the idea that fashion is an extension of ourselves allows us to let the clothes and accessories tell a story.

The Classics
However, if maximalism, prints, and patterns aren’t for you, there are classics from Valentino, too. I love the 9to5 bag in its many iterations, including full leather in various colors. The Viva Tote also appeared, and there seemed to be a big push for the Vain bag.
A new era at Valentino is being ushered in and I, for one, am thrilled!

Gosh the detail. These outfits are a feast! Embroidery, jacquard, lace, beadwork… there’s no way fast fashion can replicate this stuff. Finally!
Absolutely gorgeous 🩷

Excited to see what Alessandro does at Valentino. First up: reimagine that logo, which IMHO makes all the bags look dated and, dare I say, a bit tacky.
Yes! That logo is horrid and has to go!
Over-the-top opulence. I love it all!
The clothes are gorgeous but the bags leave much to be desired
I love this collection. Alessandro is one of my favorite designers. I own 26 bags he did for Gucci. I cannot wait to go to Toronto to the Valentino store
The outfits though🥰🥰🥰
