Another week, another new trend! As we approach fall, we have our eyes on another oldie but goodie style: Quilted and puffer bags. You know, the bags that basically double as pillows. That’s what I like to call function at its finest. I digress, though.
In all seriousness, quilted and puffer bags are making a comeback in a very big way this year. While Gucci, Chanel, and Saint Laurent have produced numerous leather quilted pieces in the last couple of years, we’re now seeing designers including Valextra, Balmain, Givenchy, and Salvatore Ferragamo create their own versions as well.
Suffice to say, puffer and quilt aren’t just reserved for winter jackets or Gucci shoulder bags. I must say, however, that though this trend is something to keep your eye on, I haven’t exactly proclaimed my support just yet. I tend to lean towards bags with sleek, clean lines. But if I had to jump on the bandwagon, I’d probably go for the Saint Laurent or Bottega Veneta listed below.
LOL, love the dog leash closure on the Rebecca Minkoff bag.
That’s it, a dog leash closure! It bothered me and I didn’t know why. All of her bags have this, but they would look so much better with a magnetic or other closure!
As a child of the 90s, these speak to me! I love the Bottega Veneta & Givenchy.
I love the Valextra. Hate what has happened to Bottega Veneta.
I hate to be a negative Nellie, but I don’t like any of them. The “puffy” design just looks too pillowy, but on the other hand if I’m tired I’d have a comfortable, albeit expensive, “pillow” to rest my head. 🙂
Nothing can beat the margiela glam slam.
I am surprised at how much I like both the Givenchy and Ferragamo
I’m excited because I can use my Marc Jacobs Stam bag and feel on trend. ???
