I’m Tired of Logos, But Designers Aren’t

Check out the latest in logo bags

It’s no secret that designers are logo-crazed. We’ve seen them on our favorite bags, and we’ve worn them plenty. (I’m guilty.) And at least for now, the trend shows no sign of slowing.

It’s important to note that I’m not just referring to the small, shiny hardware-type logos found on Chanel Flaps or Prada Gallerias. Lately, we’ve seen more and more handbags with large, in-your-face logos, often coating a purse with a designer’s name or logo across the entire exterior.

As more designers market their products through Instagram (with the help of influencers), the trend comes at no surprise, especially from a strategic standpoint. It benefits designers immensely. By buying and wearing a logo-heavy bag, a designer gains free marketing, buzz, and hype, which in turn results in increased sales and a heightened desirability factor.

Whether you love it or hate it, logos remain strong. (Just check out the below picks as evidence!) Would you rock any of them?

I think its a style at this point and not a fad. I’ve always been confused when people say they don’t like this trend but carry an LV. LV has always been a Logo and we continue to carry it.

The subtle logo patterns are just barely acceptable, but I just can’t stomach wearing a logo that’s an outright billboard and pay over a grand for the “privilege”. Sorry NO THANKS!

Being a general logo-hater, I also am better able to appreciate a well-designed monogram over a house’s name slapped on the front of the bag.

The Dior and Gucci bags don’t bother me so much, but the rest look garish.

Yes, these bags have a heritage link back to 1970s, especially the disco years. The others look desperate and garish.

I love a good logo even the billboard ones. Logos are cool if done correctly.

Chloe logo is just trying so hard!! The bag will be nicer without logo.

The beaded Fendi is actually gorgeous if you think about all the craftsmanship behind it. But that price is still way too much.

the DG bag is just ugly.
