Barely two months into the new year, and the color blue has proven itself as one of the most popular handbag hues. Just consider the below picks as proof.
It’s no surprise considering Pantone named ‘Classic Blue’ as 2020’s color of the year. So far, many fashion houses, including Bottega Veneta, Oscar de la Renta, and The Row, have reinvented some of their signature styles with the ‘Classic Blue’ hue. Others have created brand-new shapes and looks with the color instead.
Whether you’re looking to spend a couple hundred dollars to get in on this trend, or you’re ready to go all out on a luxury designer pick, here are some of our favorite blue handbags of the moment. I’m eyeing Wandler’s Georgia Leather-Trimmed Faux Pearl-Embellished Velvet Shoulder Bag . Ugh, a girl can just never have too many pearls.
Are you eyeing any blue bags? Do you think this color has the potential to stick around beyond this year? My gut says yes, but only time will tell.
Maybe I have a different interpretation of blue, but some don’t look blue, at all. I’m speaking of JW Anderson, which looks gray, Loewe and Longchamp look black. If the latter two are meant to be a dark blue (navy) it doesn’t translate well. Anyway, I was looking at Dior, last night, and they have the prettiest light blue Lady Dior, it is stunning!
It must be your screen, they are clearly dark blue/a dove blue color. Colors look very different on my phone and on my computer, so I know it can differ a lot.
You are probably right that my screen isn’t picking up the colors. Thx.
Although they seem darker than the average navy bag, but they are clearly blue.
I’m so distracted by the ads. It’s unfortunate that the ads appear between the name/description of the bag and the photo. I kept having to scroll up and down.
We’re working on tweaking placements, so thank you for pointing this out!
I’d love to read about Simon Miller bags on here! Have you something like that planned? Such lovely spring and summer bags, especially the Bonsai!
I like blue bags! I prefer navy or a deeper shade of blue. Light blue equals baby blue to me and that’s not a color I’m attracted to.
I also love navy blue and I don’t mind a deep shade of blue.
My clothes are pretty neutral so I’m a fan of blue bags to give an understated splash of colour.
I personally find blue tones work best in classic shapes & finishes (Bleu de Prusse in a leather tote style, Aqua in a patent saddle bag style and Navy in a saffiano Boston bag style). All purchased about 10 years ago and regularly used.
So yes, give me blue bags any day of the week!
I absolutely love blue bags, and find them so versatile. I usually go bright and colorful with my tops and shoes so it’s great to have a bag that kind of blends in with my denim (I’m usually in jeans). My most-used bags are probably my Birkin 30 in Deep Blue togo and my Chanel WOC in navy caviar for that reason!
I love the BV…
