No one would describe me as a maximalist. I carry a Mansur Gavriel bucket bag almost every day, which is almost the same as wearing a sandwich board instructing people to ask me about my love for minimalism. I’ve had aspirations toward maximalism in the past, though, and I still very much appreciate the variety that it brings–as much as I love a simple, perfect bag, I also want crazy, jewel-covered bags to be available. A girl’s got to have options.
Fashion’s been dominated by minimal, clean-lined accessories ever since Céline’s bags rocketed to popularity, but now, the tide seems to be turning a little bit (or, at the very least, diversifying). Spring new arrivals have brought with them a bounty of jewels, feathers, embroidery, fringe and, well, whatever Moschino’s doing. Below, check out a variety of bags that will satisfy your desire for a little something extra.
I wanted so badly to like at least one of these (the Fendi came close) but I guess I am more of a minimalist than I thought.
I’m a maximalist, love all of them, gorgeous. The Moschino one looks like chewing gum, love!
Why spend your day being ordinary!! The Fendi #6 is my fave.
I always expect the Moschinos to be the worst of the bunch, given your introductions to their stuff, but I am totally and completely charmed by the pool float bag. It’s so frickin’ cute, haha.
I don’t disagree, in this instance!
Not my style…and the Moschino Floaty Tote who would spend $1.00 let alone $650.00.
None of these float my boat but there was a cherry blossom applique McQueen Heroine in the Sak’s catalog that made my eyes pop out.
Yuck! What happened here? When I read the article I was excited to see the bags. I’m a girl who thinks an extra sequin, tassel or rhinestone only makes some things better. But, wow! These bags are a range of ugly and tacky.
And that pool floatie?! The folks at Moschino HAVE to be laughing every single time they sell a bag. They KNOW their bags are ridiculous.
That Sophie Hulme bag is calling my name. I love an embellished bag, but what I don’t want one that’s overly designed. For example, I would buy a Mansur Gavriel if his had some studs on it. Clean design with a little oomph added to it.
I would be so worried that the bag would snag my clothes and a doodad would fall off.
Some of these look like they would either snag on clothes or have parts fall off easily, and others look like Michaels projects.
Nice bags! However I love minimalism! I recently purchased an InconnuLAB backpacks and I highly recommend it! http://www.inconnulab.com http://www.inconnulab.etsy.com
