The Best Bags Under $600

As the resident handbag lover in many of my loved ones’ lives, I am frequently asked the question of “what bag should I buy”? I love getting asked this because helping someone find a bag that will fit perfectly into their life is so special and fun for me—I especially love to do the research! Few people in my life will spend over a grand on a bag, but luckily, a bag doesn’t have to be expensive to be on-trend, well-constructed, and stylish. I have rounded up my favorite bags under $600 below. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Polène Numéro Un ($420)

Polène has become the go-to designer when recommending a bag to someone who wants to buy a designer bag but doesn’t want to spend a huge amount. I personally own the Numéro Un and can attest to the fact that this bag gets more compliments than nearly any other bag in my collection. I love that you can wear it on your shoulder with the longer strap or by its top handle. It’s impeccably made and the design is interesting and unique. Priced at $420 and made in Spain, you will get that bang for your buck with this beauty! This is a perfect bag to add to your arsenal if you want to get a quality piece at an amazing price.

See by Chloé Hana Leather Hobo Bag ($550)

I’m a big fan of See by Chloé, the label known as the “little sister” of the iconic fashion house Chloé. The reason I love it so much is not only is it a great price point, but it truly is aligned to the aesthetic of its older, more expensive, sister label. The See by Chloé line is a great and easy way to achieve the style you want but at a lower price point. I am currently obsessed with the Hana hobo bag. The intricate hardware and the cowhide leather and suede trim accents are super reminiscent of the Faye bag.

Strathberry Mini East/West Leather Crossbody Bag ($595)

I became acquainted with Strathberry when Meghan Markle was photographed wearing bags from the Scottish handbag brand. Like many, I consider Meghan to be my personal style icon and am often lusting after pieces she wears. I was pleasantly surprised to see the price point of Strathberry, and this crossbody bag is a deal at $595.

Rebecca Minkoff Sofia Hobo Bag ($298)

Rebecca Minkoff was my gateway into designer bags and I will always have a soft spot for her designs. I found my way to the PurseForum and PurseBlog because of her Morning After Bag over a decade ago. Right now I am really into the Sofia hobo bag—hobos are back in a big way this fall and the nutmeg color of this bag is a great year-round color. I had a friend buy this bag and I was impressed with the quality of the leather when I touched it. Rebecca Minkoff is a good staple for anyone who wants to buy designer but can’t commit to premium designer prices.

Tory Burch Gemini Coated Canvas Tote ($258)

I have two Gemini totes from Tory Burch and can personally attest that this is a great bag. I use my Gemini totes on rainy days or if I’m traveling. I traveled internationally quite a bit over the last year and I brought my Gemini totes with me on many flights, it is the perfect carry-on bag. The Gemini tote is made of coated canvas, making it very lightweight and durable. The handles are made of faux leather, making it 100% waterproof. My mom bought a white Gemini tote in lieu of a Damier Azur Neverfull from Louis Vuitton and she loves it too.

Coach Kat Saddle Bag ($395)

Another trend that is coming back in a big way is the saddlebag trend. I love a good saddlebag and the Kat design from Coach is one of my favorites out there right now. The bag features Coach’s iconic horse and carriage motif on the hardware, which is a unique and playful take on the logo trend. Coach bags have made a total comeback in my life and I am excited about what the brand is doing right now. This bag would be a perfect addition to anyone’s closet and at $395 it’s a bargain.

DeMellier Mini Rome Bag ($420)

I have been so excited about DeMellier bags recently and am looking to buy my first. The Mini Rome bag is a great choice this fall because it plays into the animal print trend, and snakeskin especially is having a moment. I think this would make a great crossbody addition to my wardrobe and I would really want to wear this in the winter because I am a big believer in the winter white aesthetic!

STAUD Moon Bag ($295)

This STAUD bag is so much fun. I love the moon-shaped design—it’s super unique and eye-catching. STAUD is a brand that offers on-trend pieces at a reasonable cost, so if you are looking to experiment with your style without breaking the bank, it is a great place to start. I’m not sure if I could pull this bag off but I sure do want to try.

Simon Miller Bend Leather Shoulder Bag ($590)

The chunky acrylic strap of this Simon Miller Bend bag caught my eye and captured my heart. I adore ornate details on bags and this strap is no exception. The Bend bag is on trend with its half-moon shape and adds its own twist on the trend with the chunky strap. I may or may not have clicked “add to cart” on this one!

Kate Spade New York Margaux Large Leather Satchel ($358)

I own several Kate Spade bags and have always been very impressed with the quality for the reasonable price point. I especially like the Margaux satchel because it has three compartments, including a middle compartment that can be zipped for extra security. The style of this bag is minimalistic but includes a cute charm dangling from the strap. The Margaux can be worn year-round and can be dressed up or down for almost any occasion, making it an easy addition to any handbag lover’s collection.
