I always have such high hopes for See by Chloe’s bags, but season after season, they continue to leave me wanting something a little different. Or, in the case of the See by Chloe Poya Mini Bag, a lot different.
This little purse certainly would be better in black and probably would be better in almost any color other than the ones before us, but alas, this is what we have to evaluate. For $300, you can do a lot better.
Although general girlishness doesn’t bother me in the least (You should see all the full skirts in my closet), the scalloped edges around this bag seem like a rather cheap-looking afterthought to spruce up a rather middling design. Rendering them in a different shade of brown doesn’t much help the cause, particularly in a crowded contemporary bag market where many other $300 minibags are vying your your consumer cash. Buy through Saks for $295.
For me, nothing that See by Chloe has made thus far justifies the price. I love a feminine bag, but this doesn’t appear to have that aesthetic. It’s rather mediocre and does look cheap.
It looks like the design team all went on vacation at the same time. (ipad)
I’m actually loving this “twee” little bag(ipad)
Agree, very juvenile, not in a good way. Yet, the color is too “mature” and conservative. It would look much better in electric brights. Two-tone, three-tone, four-tone… Just load it with color, baby, especially the “petals” – and it will be rescued.
not really my style… I agree, it’s very tween… (ipad)
I wish it were a different color and I’d expect a price tag closer to 198. Just meh. (ipad)
No, it looks too much like something I could pick off a street stall in Cancun for $3. (ipad)
LOL! You’re so right! (ipad)
If it was cheaper and cheaper materials, I’d buy it for my 7 year-old niece. She’d love it. (ipad)
Looks like something I would make in summer camp with a Tandy Leather kit. (ipad)
Kind of a gingerbread purse. (ipad)
it looks unfinished to me. (ipad)
Eww. I don’t like it at all! I’m telling my age here, but I remember having a purse similiar to that back in the early 70’s…paired with my “buffalo” shoes! Nah…let’s not go back 😉
I saw this in person at the mall today. It was orange, which is better, but still did not cut it. (ipad)
Eeks, there are so many things wrong w/the styling. (ipad)
i could do without the trimmings (ipad)
I saw the larger version and LOVED it! So darling!! (ipad)
It looks like the type of ‘baglet’ that your Aunt brings you back from her overseas trip…not your favourite Aunt. (ipad)
Maybe if the scallops were smaller. (ipad)
I agree with Cindy Eekkk! is pretty much how I feel as well. It looks like something my little sister would carry. lol @ Joyce, I wouldn’t be suprised if you could find it for $3! (ipad)
