It doesn’t happen that often, but sometimes I come across a bag while working on something and just can’t get it out of my head. That’s the case with the Kara Tie Shoulder Bag; I discovered it while looking for a handful of affordable black everyday bags, and it struck me as a particularly great option. You guys thought it was too; Shopbop sold out of the design the day after we included it in the post.
If you had your eye on the bag, which retails for a very reasonable $475 in regular leather, and weren’t able to get your hands on one from Shopbop, we have some good news: Net-a-Porter just received the bag this week in both black and beige, as well as a shearling-accented version that retails for $585. The design is simple; it’s a long-strapped, roomy shoulder bag with a minimalist “tie” (it’s actually a leather strip that slides through a fastened loop for ease of closure) to keep it closed.
For me, the design has a similarly clean visual appeal to Mansur Gavriel’s much-sought-after bucket bags, but with a little more slouch and without the interminable wait lists. It’s the kind of bag I could see myself carrying every day.
Very pretty. So simple and that is great. 🙂
Simple and an ok buy for the price but it is quite boring.
Couldnt agree more. But I am still concerned about the quality of the leather. For Mansur Gavriel’s lady bag, which shares the similar design, it’s very structured.
So beautiful and sans clutter. Would love to see a purseonal from you on how it feels and works in real life.
Everyone needs a simple bag that can be paired with any outfit. Black and Beige are two colors that work for any season, and the shearling-accented version is a perfect option for winter. The leather strip allows you to feel comfortable knowing your items are safe and secure within your bag. Very unique way of keeping a bag closed shut. Love that you can wear this as a cross-body or over one shoulder. Check out my blog to see some similar looks at http://telavivcouture.blogspot.com/

Love a simple black leather bag….especially sans hardware which tends to keep it more timeless.
Very nice, clean design but what is the leather like?
I just bought one and am considering returning it. I love the design but the leather feels cheap and plasticky. Disappointing as its beautiful in pictures.
