Is the Marc by Marc Jacobs Saddlery Perfect Purse really perfect?

I don’t know about you, but I don’t use the word “perfect” lightly, particularly when it comes to handbags. It’s a superlative of the highest order (redundant, I know, but go with it) and should only be reserved for objects that truly achieve some sort of harmony of design. Does this bag meet that burden? I’m not sure.

Based on the name, though, the designers sure seem to think that the Marc by Marc Jacobs Saddlery Perfect Purse does. Sure, it’s cute and functional, but perfect? Not so fast, my friends.

This bag does not venture much in the way of challenging aesthetics or unorthodox ideas, so in that regard, it seems to achieve all of the goals that it presumably set out to attain. I don’t know if that means it’s perfect, but a handbag blog probably isn’t the place that you want to have a very heavy discussion about the nature of perfection and whether or not it exists (does our consciousness of imperfection prove that perfection has to be out there somewhere? Maybe!). So I’ll say this: it’s perfectly cute. Buy through Saks for $278.

Maybe it means it’s the perfect bag to be using while on a saddle!!
In any case, I would totally use it. At 5′ 1”, it’ll make me look tall, or like a little girl. Hm…

It uses the cloth strap on a leather bag well, there is nothing wrong with it- so maybe it’s perfect for what it’s trying to be. Personally, I think that perfect is different for every person. But that’s a little too deep for deciding whether I like a bag. I’ll just say yes.
