DVF offers an inexpensive way to punk up a little black dress

I know I just wrote about a Diane Von Furstenberg bag a couple of days ago, but for some reason, bags tend to come in spurts, either by brand or type. If I write about a black tote, there’s almost always a brand new black tote that I like much better waiting for me the next day. If I find a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag I hate, there’s always a great one coming right after it.

It happens too often for me to shrug it off as coincidence; the universe is clearly out to get me. At this point in the work week, though, I think the Diane Von Furstenberg Lytton Love Knot Minaudiere deserves a post, no matter what DVF bags might have come before it.

It’s not often that a handbag elicits any sort of verbal reaction from me when I first come across it online. After two years of full-time PurseBlogging, a certain amount of handbag ennui is inevitable. When I saw this little clutch, though, my first reaction was a very audible “OOOOH.”

This little clutch may not be objectively great (although I love it), but it’s precisely what my wardrobe needs. I’m in my mid-20s and wear almost exclusively black, and a clutch with a modern, edgy print like this one would prove itself beyond useful in my closet. Almost all of DVF’s versions of the Lytton have been full of personality, but this one, complete with its counterintuitive color scheme, is easily my favorite thus far. Buy through ShopBop for $265.

I’m with you….I LOVE IT!

I totally get what you are saying, Amanda. This is not a revolutionary handbag, but it is indeed a very stylish and young handbag. Not too trendy, but still shows DvF talent for patterns. You can wear it for many years. And it is very reasonably priced. Happy shopping ! 🙂

Love this one! A bit of a step down from McQueen’s knot clutches but definitely covetable for a casual style occasion 🙂
