Coach’s Kristen line does it again, this time with a crossbody

We’ve heaped a lot of love onto Coach‘s line of Kristen handbags in the past, and for good reason – the smooth leather and sleek implementation of hardware really stand out from what some dubious consumers might think of when someone mentions Coach.

For Fall 2010, the Kristen line has gotten a bit racier with the Coach Kristen Studded Leather Crossbody. Because of the bag’s diminutive proportions, metallic colored leather and multicolored studding work surprisingly well.

Bags with lots of personality are always more easily digested in small proportions, and this crossbody is the perfect example of that. Its six-and-a-half inch width gives Coach’s designers just enough room to play with some very bombastic elements (colored metallics are always tricky), and the bite-size portion is just enough to be satisfying. Any larger, and these bag would be, as Tim Gunn so eloquently says, a lot of look. Buy through Nordstrom for $228.

I am just not a fan of the front clasp design on the kristen. I think it looks cheap.

I really like the studs. The purple ones are unique and look nice with the bag.

I love the Kristin line and I love the color.

Very very ornate, maybe TOO ornate. I usually think that a small evening bag can get away with practically anything, but sparkle, jewels & beads may be pushing it too much for me !

Not loving all the bling. I would love to see a simpler version that relied on just color and design!

Coach is cheap…..I would rather buy a bag half of the price without the name recognition so I do not look like another drone walking down the sidewalk!
