The Best National Handbag Day 2020 Snaps and Shares

Warning: serious bagspiration inside...

Over the weekend we celebrated the 8th anniversary of over very own holiday: National Handbag day. We started this holiday years ago to celebrate our love of handbags and share it with this community we’ve created and beyond! The people who read our site and interact on our forum have become like family and our websites have also become a welcomed safe haven for the hundreds of thousands of like-minded bag lovers around the world. And while we recognize that there are much larger issues going on in the world than our beloved bags, we can’t help but take pause and celebrate them. For us, and for many others, our bags are more than just bags, they’re an intimate look into our lives and who we are.

Bags for us have always been a passion and hobby that allows us to escape a bit from the harder parts of life, and now more than ever taking care of our mental health is so important. It also happens to be that National Handbag day coincides with World Mental Health day, so don’t forget to be kind to yourself and others – check in with those you love, it’s more important now than ever.

And without further ado, we’re here to share our favorite shares from National Handbag day to help you take a minute for yourself today! Which bag did you carry to celebrate?

Love all the pictures!!

Sandy

Great pics!!

Agnes dean

Oooo I am loving johnjunglee’s jacket, anyone who knows where it is from?

Sig

The cutest pix is the “baby in the Birkin” (#2)…where can I buy one? 🙂 However, KK is annoying because she looks like a walking ad for Fendi, which is disappointing, as she is oversaturated in the media. It’s time to give the “average” woman time in the spotlight sharing their handbag favorites. They may not be as polished and sophisticated, but I appreciate their originality.

Adele

Omg … the baby in the Birkin! ?

Megs Mahoney Dusil

Right?! Wish I had done this with Millie!

Laurie

Great pics minus the KK pics. She is endorsed by Fendi and getting the bag for free. Makes me not want to purchase that peekabo.

Sheila (Maddy Loves)

Whenever too many people are gifted anything, it makes me not want to buy the bag. E.g., LV Multi Pochette, LV Pont Neuf, Dior Saddle, Dior 30 Montaigne. These bags are supposed to be luxury and rare but for some reason the brand is just flinging it away to anyone and their aunt. It cheapens the whole thing.

Megs Mahoney Dusil

I get it! They are a family that evokes a lot of feelings from others. But, I thought it was really cool to have one of the most followed people on Instagram using our hashtag, whether she is sponsored by the brand or not 🙂

Irene

Let’s say you were rich and super famous like her. Are you saying you would decline to be endorsed by a brand and receive free stuff ?
The answer in one word, “NO”.
Spare us all any high horse blah blah blah reply

May

I understood her post to mean she “may not want to purchase the peekaboo because KK receives everything for free” and she chooses not to be associated with anything KK related. Also, many people don’t want to purchase anything endorsed by the K-family. They have been in the media for the past many years and some people may not appreciate them, for their own reasons. In fact, the family owned several “Dash” clothing stores for which they have since closed which may demonstrate that people want to disassociate themselves from this family.

Irene

Sounds like you know a lot about them. Maybe “dash “ clothing stores have closed to maybe something like a PANDEMIC and because they are just that, “Dash” stores.
“Skims” seems to be killing it. Sold out items left and right.
I don’t think Fendi needs any sort of endorsement or support from anyone to elevate their status. The photo features a successful
beautiful woman with a beautiful bag. Period. Why shouldn’t they get stuff for free? To imply the bag is beneath you because of KKW is so delusional. Not here to defend someone I don’t even know but STOP hating. That’s all it is.
Maybe you are the one who needs to “distance” themselves from obsessively following them and being envious. So sad.

May

My opinion of what another poster wrote really set you off. As far as everything you wrote…it’s simply hypothetical nonsense and nothing more.

Tiffany

Hands down – my fav is @iamjenniferhicks DANG GIRL. What a queen!!!!!!!!

Fun to look at it, although too heavy on LV and Chanel. Would have been nice to see greater diversity in brands (and no Kardashians) — Polene, Demellier, Asprey, Smythson, Moynat, Delvaux, Lancel, Bottega Veneta, Longchamp, Stella McCartney, Burberry, Miu Miu etc. The baby in the Birkin was adorable. I found photo 27 a little unsettling — 51 bags crammed together in one place, I don’t know, a little self-editing might be in order.

Hey, question for Kaitlin:

How many designer bags do you own ? (Coaches, D&B, MKs and Kate spades included)
