Luxury fashion is experiencing major upheaval, and the business’s tumultuous nature shows no signs of slowing. That said, it makes sense that designers are stripping it back, returning to inspirations that revolve around community and shared lived experiences.
While at Valentino, that meant a public restroom; at Louis Vuitton, it meant the platform of a train, a place where people from all walks of life converge. Nicolas Ghesquière was inspired by the many emotions that take place there. The anxiousness of time passing, the sadness of saying goodbye, or the joyous celebration of reunion. The excitement of departing for adventure or the tranquility of returning home.
A Sense of Adventure at Louis Vuitton Fall 2025
To further emphasize its theme, Louis Vuitton held the Fall 2025 show at L’Étoile du Nord, a stunning 19th-century building that was once the headquarters of a train company. Inspired by the adventure and enchantment of it all, Ghesquière presented a collection of ready-to-wear representing the various archetypes you’d find in a station going to and from.

Of course, the collection is heavy on outerwear, with rain-slickers and technical jackets sitting alongside trenches and capes cinched with canvas belt bags. Wardrobe essentials like denim and leather are given the Ghesquière touch, while the traditional tracksuit is reinvented.
The Bags of Louis Vuitton Fall 2025
As for the bags, this collection is primed for Louis Vuitton’s signatures, especially those rooted in travel, like the iconic Keepall and the Alma. Other silhouettes include hand-carried trunks, a distorted version of the Petite Malle, and an oversized Dauphine Soft.
As for newness, collectors will go crazy for the distinct Etui Ukulele bag. Fall 2025 also introduces the wearable new L’Express bag, which echos the timelessness and clean lines of the Keepall. L’Express arrives in bold color combinations and neutrals alike, defined by its functionality offering multiple ways of carrying, and a range of sizes.

I wish we could go back to the days when Marc Jacobs was at Louis Vuitton, and Nicolas Ghesquiere was still at Balenciaga. That is when they did great things. Now …. not so much.
Could not agree more🤗.
I echo your sentiment, this collection is full of homeless looking outfits, dreary tired bags and don’t even get me started about those clunky shoes! I would rather buy an outfit from Gap than this mess. This is an adventure nobody wants to take!
been a while since I’ve seen an unhoused person in sequins and lace, but what do I know. I think it’s funny how you would compare an avant garde designer to the gap as though there was any point in that. y’all are just vicious for the sake of it.
Not sure if vicious is fair. Maybe just privileged and oblivious to the rest of the world?!
How does that make it look any less like homeless people who could only get 80s clothes
I fell out of love with Louis Vuitton in Paris when the process of purchasing a bag consisted of looking at it on a shelf behind the counter. Then the sales associate had it brought down in a dumb waiter wrapped in plastic by someone else. If I’m going to spend over $2000 on a handbag, I’d like it to come with some bells and whistles. Most every high-end designer in Paris has always greeted me with a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of champagne upon request. They make me feel like a guest in their house. And then I give them money and they give me a souvenir lol. But I want my souvenir to be presented to me at the counter in a box wrapped in tissue. I don’t want it to come down a dumb waiter wrapped in plastic.

I’ve been to the LV Vendome and had a great experience which I purchased a bag and scarf, on two separate occasions. Even got the champagne treatment. Maybe it depends on the location?
Maybe probably. This was the Paris store on the Champs Elysees. Long lines to get. A Mob once you do get in. Have to search for an SA. Unlike Chanel or Hermes who take appts and don’t let you in without being immediately guided.
The Champs Elysees store is a much different vibe than the Vendome location. I have had similar experiences to you both at each location. Shop Vendome if you can, much friendlier.
Some lovely bags. The tweed LV biker is gorgeous. Clothes are a mess and the shoes are hideous
What. A. Mess.
This show looks messy. Maybe that’s what the house was going for, and I don’t get it. Maybe I should watch the show on YouTube.
I loved the whole thing. It was like a crazy cartoon! I want to see the leather up close on those keepalls! What the heck are those weird bedrolls!? The capes , trippy skirts and fat marshmallow boots? So much fun and so what if I’m not going to see this stuff in practical use. I certainly think a ukelele bag is an idea whose time has come!! After the insanity in our world right now, this was a delightful relief.
Not that interested in most of the bags or clothes, but I do like that suitcase bag in photo 25. I’d love to take that traveling with me.
Last summer (spring?) Purse Blog featured the Fall 2024 bags and there was a beautiful east west Epi leather bag in burgundy. I kept my eyes open for it all season, but never saw it in the shops (both US and Europe) or on the website. I wonder if some of the bags featured in these shows never make it to the consumer? Or maybe they are just special order?
Yes I learned this the hard way when I waited on a buffalo plaid speedy from the Pharrell collection for months, only for the SA to later inform me that it was not being made and was runway only.
Some items in the runway shows are never produced.
I can’t help it, I love Louis Vuitton. The quality is fantastic, I’ve had one of my bags 20 years and it still looks great. Agree some of the current designs are a little off but then I wouldn’t buy them, I buy the classics.
The sales staff in Birmingham UK are absolutely charming.
The bag in photo 30 looks an awful lot like the Loewe Amazona.
Or the old Coach Andy bag. Which I love!
And photo 28 is a Givenchy Antigona Soft
that pastel bag about the seventh row down in light blue and green appeals to me, but it also looks heavy, which I would find a turn off. The shoes and boots look like clown shoes to me so I’d never buy them. So ignoring the shoes, I don’t think it’s a bad collection.
I do like the Sloucy in Damier Ebene #32 but the show as a whole has styles that I’m not overly fond of. I do get its a show but I don’t get the train station and looks they chose to use. Normally I find a few bags I lust over but that was the only one for me. Thats ok too.
Not a fan of this collection. the slouchy bag with straps draped over it looks like Coach.
I think this is what they force you to wear in hell 😱
Terrible shopping experience.Last time SA was trying to show me pictures on his iPhone, because he didn’t know what was available and the names of the models.Ridiculous, they hiring people from the streets, who don’t have any idea how to treat customers. For high end prices this is not what you expect. Also styles are boring and not classy anymore.
What is with the hideous footwear?!
