I recently rediscovered my love for Louis Vuitton monogram, and ever since I’ve started to revisit the idea of adding another monogram piece to my bag collection. Louis Vuitton monogram is instantly recognizable around the world, and though some people are over the logo obsession, there’s no denying the rich history behind Louis Vuitton’s monogram canvas. Originally designed for travel, Louis Vuitton’s monogram canvas is incredibly well made and super durable. While the brand has a massive offering of classic monogram bags if I’m going to do a new monogram piece I’d like it to be something a bit more special. Enter the Louis Vuitton Mini Luggage Bag.
I loved this Mini Luggage Bag the minute I saw it on the Spring 2019 runway. For reasons unknown, I find smaller versions of things that are meant to be large insanely cute. Who wouldn’t want to tote around their belongings in a tiny bag inspired by the rich history of Louis Vuitton’s travel heritage? This bag was designed by Nicolas Ghesquière for the Spring-Summer 2019 runway show and it’s arguably the standout style from the SS19 collection.
The Mini Luggage bag was introduced in two versions for SS19. The bag is offered in classic monogram canvas with aged cowhide leather trim. The aged leather trim differs from the typical Vachetta leather in that it’s meant to look preworn or vintage, which mixes perfectly with the mini luggage shape of the bag. The bag also comes in a smooth calf leather which picks up the navy hue beautifully. It has a glossy aged cowhide leather trim and monogram reverse canvas detailing.
This bag may have the word mini in its name, but it’s refreshingly larger than most bags these days. With overall dimensions of 7.1″ H x 9.8″ W x 3.1″ D this bag is the perfect size to tote around everything you need for the day. A small water bottle, a notebook—even a snack—along with all of your usual necessities can all fit nicely. Inside, there are two slit pockets to help keep your belongings organized. This bag not only has a second strap option, but it has a third as well! The Mini Luggage Bag can be carried via the adorable top handle, worn over the shoulder, or hand carried with the mini chain strap. Both the longer leather strap as well as the shorter chain strap are detachable, but only the leather strap is adjustable. Very cute! I agree…smaller versions of originally larger bags are cute. But definitely looks hard to get in and out of…similar to the Chanel Vanity…cute, but a pain in the a$$

3 handles and a pain to open and close with that zipper, nope. And that’s before the prices!
It is cute, but is it difficult or a “pain” to open and close easily? It looks like the zipper needs to be completely unzipped to access the contents. Am I wrong?
I didn’t need to totally unzip it. It has two zippers so if you unzip one side at least around the curve you can stick your hand in and grab what you need to. The zipper was a bit stiff but I imagine it will give with time.

I almost choked on my Gardetto when u saw the price. Initially I was like, ok this is adorable. I’ll totelly get one if it’s around $1700. But $3500?! ‘Ol Nick has lost his mind.

That’s not always true. I think LV is one of the most inconsistent brands around when it comes to customer service
i think we base our opinion of product according to a individual experience. and fortunately mine has been very positive one. bought a bag years ago and there was recall and they not only credit full price, also gave me the appreciated value. but !!! Best Customer service is at 5th Ave Grand army plaza.. IMO
Well that’s a rare occasion where a recall from the company is issued. They have protocols to follow in such occasions which are rare. I’m talking about general things. Also, where is there a LV in Brooklyn?
couldn’t agree more – the canvas stuff from Louis Vuitton should be $ 600-700 because its canvas and its not luxury canvas (similar to how one can justify charging extra for different leathers)
I mean it is luxury canvas. It’s a special coated canvas that only LV uses. They have a formula that they use that’s under lock and key. Same with Goyard, they have their own unique canvas formula that they use. However, that’s not to say it’s ok to charge that much for this particular bag. It’s not even hard sided luggage. At least the petite boîte chapeau is hard and so is the petit malle so I can justify the price but this? No. You can get soft luggage from LV for less than this which is insane.
Agree, I have products from both and the canvas is nothing special – they don’t even want to replace or fix it is something happens – the days of these brands and the prestige associated with them diminishes in this digital age of social media influencers ever lv gives a free bag to everyone – no one I know carries any lv bags anymore
I adore this piece but the price is a no go. The fact that you can get a pegase for the same price and a horizon for LESS, is absolutely insane. At least the Petit Malle and the Petit Boîte Chapeau are hard sided pieces, therefore justifying the price a bit more (I use the word justify very loosely) but $3.5 k for this? Nah. Not worth it. Not even close.
Not to mention the quality issues they’ve been having recently. My SA told me to keep using my bag til it tarnishes completely and then she’ll replace it for free. Lol. I was like uh it shouldn’t be like this. I’ve had this item for less than 5 months.
That being said, if I can track one down in person, and I can see quality in it and see if I can use it as an overnight bag MAYBE I’ll consider buying and it can be my one stupid, pointless purchase of the year (I allow myself one dumb, unjustifiable purchase per year lmao)
I coveted this for so long but am stunned by its price tag. I think it would be very difficult to open and don’t know why LV can’t include a true crossbody strap at this price. Will stick with the Pochette Metis.
