Last month Jacquemus posted a series of colorful bags, accessories and more, teasing the brand’s fall 2021 collection, which had yet to be presented. Finally, at the very end of June, Jacquemus fall 2021 debuted with a treat, the collection was available to purchase immediately following the show and today we’re taking a look at the latest from Simon Porte Jacquemus and the team at the experimental French label.
Being the first show in over year, the presentation was a big reunion of sorts for the designer who told Vogue, “it was so nice to see people, and to see everyone so happy”. And as for the collection, the pieces oozed everything that post-pandemic dressing is all about. They were colorful, exploratory, playful and chic — pops of fuchsia, orange and red rounded out the more neutral pieces.
As for the bags, there were many. With mini bags juxtaposing the more maxi silhouettes like totes and a cool cube bag. Shearling is seen throughout, both as a novelty detail as well an all-over material. The Le Chiquito is here to stay this season, given a mini-makeover with a tiny buckled detail. Shapes are clean and simple, with novelty details like chains and bright pops of color making the bags stand out. View standouts from the collection below, all available to shop now via Jacquemus.
Not rlly sure I understand the hype around Jacquemus… they’re very tiny for the most part, not very expensive so it’s not like they’re an investment or anything, and they’re so all over the place that it makes it difficult to rlly appreciate the aesthetic.
Honestly, I’ve got nothing but respect for this brand- they’re selling barely functional micro-bags for $500+ and making a killing. That’s something that only the higher end ultra luxury brands can pull off. For a mid-level brand that’s quite the feat.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Good marketing sure but you can throw money at something and put it in the arms of all Kardashians and Hadids and STILL have it flop. Mad respect for them pulling this off, even if I’d never buy one!
Is it just me who thinks this collection belongs in a porn movie or strip club?
LOL
I will admit that le seau carré looks like a great bag.
