For the past twenty years, we’ve carved out this little corner of the internet to share our love of bags and accessories and connect with like-minded individuals—all while keeping up with the trends (both in the bag world and the digital one). One of the main reasons I’ll never leave our own dot com (this very site you’re reading right now) is that Vlad and I believe deeply in keeping a space for our loyal readers to come to daily.
We don’t want to be beholden to an algorithm, which, as you know, rules every social channel. I was here before Facebook opened to the public, before Instagram existed, before TikTok was even a thought. With every new app, I’ve tried: the videos, the trends, the formats. But through it all, we never abandoned our bread and butter: PurseBlog and PurseForum. This has always been our work home; the place that has allowed us to build a beautiful business over the past two decades, with multiple employees in different cities, and at one point, even an office in NYC.
Today, I’m excited to share our newest chapter: we’ve launched a Substack called Let’s Get Purseonal.
So, what is it exactly? Substack is part newsletter, part editorial hub, part community feed. Readers choose to subscribe, and content goes directly to their inbox. There are no algorithms, no middlemen, just a deeper, ongoing conversation between us.
Our Substack will be more unfiltered, behind-the-scenes, and personal, allowing me to dive deeper into my handbag stories and life. There will be a mix of free and paid posts: free for your regular handbag fix, and paid for when I open the door wider with detailed reviews, honest takes on the luxury industry, and stories that feel too niche or too personal for PurseBlog’s broader audience. If you’ve ever wished for the kind of content that feels like texting with your bag-obsessed best friend—this is it.
The bigger picture is this: the internet is entering a new era.
Ads, clicks, and algorithms have defined so much of what we’ve all consumed for years, and frankly, it’s exhausting. Substack represents something different—community-driven content that isn’t built around chasing traffic. And as AI reshapes the online landscape, I believe people will crave authenticity more than ever: real, raw, honest connection.
PurseBlog has always been about handbags, yes, but it’s also been about us: the people who love them, the stories we attach to them, the milestones we mark with them. Let’s Get Purseonal is our way to make that connection more real and more direct.
