Christie’s London Live Auction Is Coming Up December 12th

And per usual there are more rare and over-the-top beautiful bags up for grabs

Though Christie’s now ended Winter Auction already provided some of the most amazing bags holiday dreams are made of, there is still an opportunity to find that perfect gift for yourself or someone you love with Christie’s London Live Auction which will take place on December 12th.

As if the online auction wasn’t filled with countless rarities, the 12th of December Christie’s Handbags & Accessories Live Auction features an additional 225 collectible pieces. Though many assume there are only bags in the six figure range (which there are), there are also plenty of bags that you can get for closer to the £1,000 mark too. With 225 pieces, there is something for everyone at a variety of price points.

From leather to special order Hermès bags with diamonds to exotic Chanel bags (which now is a great time to snag exotic Chanel) to Louis Vuitton trunks from 1892 to today, this sale is vast in number of items to the importance of the iconic models from Handbag History included.

HERMÈS, 2003
LIMITED EDITION BLACK DALMATIEN BUFFALO LEATHER RETOURNÉ KELLY 28 WITH PALLADIUM HARDWARE. Estimates GBP 4,000 – GBP 5,000 (USD 5,088 – USD 6,360)

Some of my favorite pieces? Check out this Limited Edition Black Dalmatien Buffalo Leather Kelly which has an estimate of GBP 4,000 – GBP 5,000. If that bag goes for that price, it’s a steal and I’ll be rather disappointed if Vlad isn’t one of the bidders.

This Shiny Green Alligator Medium Double Flap Chanel bag is the epitome of luxurious and soon to be even more rare since Chanel will stop producing exotic skin bags.

Many consider the Himalaya Niloticus Crocodile Diamond Birkin to be the ultimate holy grail, and this auction has that too.

I don’t own many red bags, but the ones I do I consider to be statement pieces and you can truly not get a more eye-catching piece than this Shiny Braise Porosus Crocodile Diamond Birkin.

I was top bidder on a Chanel vintage single flap at the New York Auction, and I feel like I got a fantastic price!! ((( especially for the condition and compared to what was available on sites like Fashionfile))) I had always been too intimidated to bid before, but now, I am hooked! There’s such a wide range of bags available… and with fashion houses crazy price increases… an auction is certainly worth looking into!

So happy to hear this! I’m going to be checking out items from the auction as well – I know others who have scored deals on amazing bags!

After viewing the previous London handbag auction from Christies I can vouch for the fabulous bags they have. However, watch out for the CITES restrictions on many of the exotics if you choose to bid and you live outside the UK. Christies cannot ship many of these bags. You may even need to go collect in person before trying to import. It’s quite a process and worth checking out first.

Good to know – let me ask Christie’s about this if we can add any info for out of UK buyers!
