Just In: Dior Tie-Dye Creations

The popular style trend is now available on the the most iconic Dior Bags

One of the breakout style trends to come from quarantine was tie-dye. Tie-dye, a trend that has come and gone over the years as many trends do, became an integral part of cozy-at-home quarantine wardrobe and was spotted on every item from clothing to shoes to bedding and homewares. Tie-dye brings back a sense of childhood nostalgia for most of us, reminding us of long, hot days at camp or with friends and our hands covered in color. As much as the pandemic and being home has been stressful, we have all been imaginative and tie-dye allowed many of us to perfect art projects for ourselves and our families and add a little lighthearted style fun to our more casual stay-at-home looks.

Tie-dye was also on the mind of Dior Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri when it came to creating the Fall 2020 ready-to-wear collection. Dior introduced an entire line of bags (and beyond), aptly named Dior Tie-Dye Creations, which features precious dyeing techniques on the House classic bags. All of the staples, including the 30 Montaigne, Saddle Bag and Lady Dior, and Dior Book Tote received tie-dye treatment. While some bags feature a range of navy hues, others have a khaki colorway in hypnotic designs.

The Dior Book Tote and Saddle Bag feature canvas with embroidery while the other bags (30 Montaigne and Lady Dior) are made from leather which allows the tie-dye pattern to stand out nicely. While some tie-dye items appear a bit too trendy, Dior was able to create a line of bags that are both very of the moment and wearable long term with versatile color combinations.

They are fun but I would not spend that kind of money on a bag that will be dated.

Gayle

Me too… the only timeless design for me is the dior oblique pattern but other than its a pass

psny15

I find these to be unattractive

Jaime G

These are fun if summer had not been cancelled but the tie dye phase will end I will be left with a dated $3000+ bag.

Rielle Zahacij

I agree. They’re going to look dated at some point.

Bubbles

Just as the 60’s tie dye came and went, so will these.

MASERATI HOTTIE

couldnt they have chosen better colors? these are hideous.

Gunilla från Småland

I have never been drawn to tie dye, and this it not an exception.

Liza

I fell for the tie dye trend hard and love these bags!

Megs Mahoney Dusil

I really like the Book Tote!

Penny

These are ridiculously overpriced!

Sparky

I like some of these! Wouldn’t buy because too expensive. Will wait for cheaper alternatives.

The Luxaholic

Love this collection, my favourite is the book tote though. I know someone who got this and it looks fabulous.

Megs Mahoney Dusil

I really like the Book Tote in tie-dye too!

SunnyQ

Omg. These are hideous. And, they won’t date well at all.

DanD

Love them but totally will date instantly. Not everything has to be a “classic” lasting forever but for that price it should last longer than a fad.

I love the tie-dye in the blue but not the green. I’ve got my eye on the saddle bag in the python blue tie-die. It is GORGEOUS in person ?comment image
