Stuart Vevers has single-handedly brought Coach back. From one viral bag after the next, Coach has risen from the ashes to once again be one of the most-wanted handbag brands of a generation. Vevers has done what few creative directors of his scale are able to do—bring high fashion trends to the masses, at a price point that is actually accessible.
While Coach offers everything from ready-to-wear and shoes to sunglasses, fragrance, and more, its bags continue to be the most talked-about items. Last year, Vevers dipped into the archives to bring back the brand’s iconic kiss lock bags, referencing the iconic Bonnie Cashin era.
They were a hit, and time and time again, the Oversized Kisslock Frame clutch sold out, once again proving the power of Coach and Vevers. This season, they’re at it again, debuting a collection that taps into the brand’s heritage and a bygone era, debuting a new range of Kisslock bags, including one that has already sold out.
The Kisslock Barrel Bag: An Instant Sell-Out
Launching online immediately following Coach’s show on Monday, the Kisslock Barrel Bag sold out instantly. While we briefly covered the bag, we wanted to give you a better look at all of the bags from the runway, which included kisslocks galore and much more.
If you love vintage Coach, this collection will speak to you. Beyond the heavy references from Bonnie Cashin’s Coach, the return of a 2000s icon—the patchwork Coach shoulder bag—arrives in classic beige and black. Other notable shapes include kisslock clutches and a relaxed hobo with an outer kisslock pocket. The shape itself feels reminiscent of ’90s-era vintage Coach with a fresh, modern spin.
