With the arrival of spring comes the beginning of wedding season, something I look forward to every year. It’s so special to be able to take part in the celebration of love between close friends and family, and there is nothing I love more than being a guest on a couple’s big day. From the moment the bride makes her grand entrance and walks down the aisle, to the tossing of the bouquet at the end of the night, I truly love it all. Call me a hopeless romantic, but I believe that there are few things in this world that are as meaningful as marriage, and being in the presence of a couple taking their vows is something I have always found happiness in. The vows and ceremonies are emotional, but I love the party aspect of a good wedding too. Having the opportunity to socialize, eat delicious food, and dance with a big group of people? Sign me up!
This year I am lucky to have multiple weddings in the pipeline since many of my closest friends are getting married. I am so excited to celebrate this milestone in their relationships, and with a fridge covered in a solid collection of save the dates, I’m already thinking ahead to what I plan on wearing to each one. Dressing for a wedding can be a hard balance to strike, and as a guest I usually try to remain relatively modest with my fashion choices by selecting demure pieces. I typically wear an understated, neutral colored dress with a stylish bag as my wedding uniform. I will usually try to get the inside scoop on what color the bridesmaids will be wearing as well to avoid showing up in a color that is similar to the wedding theme colors. There is nothing worse in my opinion than dressing in something that shouts “look at me” at a wedding, the point of the day is to admire the bride, not be most fashionably dressed (unless you are attending a royal wedding, in which case I say good for you and please dress as over the top as you wish).
Whether the wedding you’re attending is on a beach, at a vineyard, in a place of worship, or in a barn, the bags I’ve picked will be the perfect wedding date for you to take with you as you celebrate the union of the people closest to you!
I clicked into the link for the Givenchy pocket mini pouch out of minor interest, and it is actually super cool – you can use the chain strap as a top handle as shown, or hang it to the ring on the brass logo for a Chloe Faye-like bit of flair, or you can make a wristlet too. Then there is a longer leather strap for crossbody wear, and you can even buy a matching belt from Givenchy to turn it into a belt bag!
Really clever design and now it’s on my wishlist. Price isn’t ridiculous either!
I wish it was 1/2” narrower, it’d have been a perfect stadium bag too, since size restrictions are 4.5 by 6.5”. But great features and design!
For the price, the Coach clutch looks really nice.
Furla has really stepped up their game in recent years. I bought a few things at their 5th Ave location and their customer service was very on point.
I’ve loved that Givenchy mini since it came out. I wish it came with the belt though even if it cost a tiny but more like Fendi does.
The lights on the Kate Spade bag make the pearls look like grinning faces. I cannot unsee this.
Do women really buy Cult Gaia because it was featured on social media? I don’t see myself touching it with a 10 ft pole because of it.
May I also suggest the Ferragamo mini Vara bow bag! Very roomy to fit a small wallet, phone, lipstick, and keys comfortably, and under $1,000 (I think around $800 if memory serves)
