Pharrell Williams has been teasing us with little hints here and there at his capsule collection with Chanel. Williams has a long design history collaborating with brands like Adidas, Louis Vuitton and G-Star, but his capsule with Chanel was arguably the most anticipated of all. Williams has a longstanding relationship with the design house. Previously, he walked the runway for Chanel and designed sneakers for the brand in collaboration with Karl Lagerfeld and Adidas. A capsule collection was the obvious next step, and this collection pays homage to Williams’ urban style.
Last week, Chanel released lookbook images, giving us an exclusive look at the collection prior to it hitting stores on April 4th. Though the collection is not yet available worldwide, if you’re in Seoul you can already shop it at Chanel’s brand new flagship.

Forget anything else, I want those sunglasses. On my face. Right now, please.
Did I just click on a Gucci post?
I like Pharrell but not a fan of this. Chanel has always been about elegance and this is not something I’d associate with Chanel. Maybe Gucci like someone else mentioned .
I second you on that. I cannot picture Coco Chanel anywhere near this collection.
I like it more than I anticipated I would. I also like the fact that it is presented as a unisex collection. It’s fun!
Chanel are now going after the men’s fashion market which internal sales figures at LVMH and Kering show is growing at a fast rate.
…because the world needed another celebrity with big ego ‘expressing’ themselves (and undeservingly earning shedloads of dollars!) Soooo meh!
I would research what Pharell actually does with his money before commenting.
Is profit from this collection going to charity? Are seamstresses and other involved ‘makers’ paid decently? Come on! Celebrities ‘give’ to make themselves happy and because ‘giving’ looks good on cv! I’m too effing cynical to believe that PW is any different.
If ‘the rich and powerful’ weren’t so greedy/entitled/privileged/self-absorbed we wouldnt have so much economic inequality!
Well do your part and don’t buy. But if you try typing Pharell Williams Philanthropy I think you would realize you are talking about the wrong celebrity. But I see you on this purse site mad for all the seamstresses and other makers. Yet I missed your comments on the other posts. But you are making your stand. Good for you.
Specifically look up from One Hand to Another. Created in 2008 by him and his wife to bring STEM to at risk and low income students. I’m just saying come with facts before hate.
No ‘hate’ here just a sad observation
Hey, boys and girls why use a real designer when you can use a celebrity?! Yeah, sure let’s replace Karl Lagerfeld with Folgers Crystals and see if anyone notices.
‘Folger’s Crystals’? Please elaborate. The style reminds me of Gucci or an urban look that’s not me, but what is meant by the coffee reference? Sorry, I’m confused.
I’m dating myself but it’s a reference to the 80’s Folgers Coffee commercial campaign where they replaced fresh brewed coffee with their instant brand;

Oh, I get it. I remember those commercials. Yes, I am that old.
Maybe my age has something to do with why this line doesn’t appeal to me. When I think of Chanel, I think refined, and maybe trendy, but with a little class (for lack of a better word). Pharrell is in his mid forties, this collection is for twenty and early thirty somethings (imo). Pharrell, the Kaia Gerber campaign and the beach ball style bags are making me feel too old for Chanel (the traditional old lady bag from my childhood).
No worries! I personal equate “Old Lady” with classic and mostly sophistication. Don’t ever apologize for having good experience!
While this isn’t the typical Chanel aesthetic, I’m sure that it will sell well. Those who like some of Chanel’s edgier options (Boy Bag and the Gabrielle) and the limited editions will grab these as well.
I love the colors. The offerings are bright and colorful which I love. The collection is very much a nod to the ‘80s. Cross Colours anyone? If money were no object, I’d get a few pieces especially the sunglasses in picture 2.
Cross Colours was the first thing I thought when I saw this!
These colours would look different in daylight, also after first wash will likely fade. I like colours too but am well aware of the maintenance issues. Wish one day someone came up with fabrics which are lovely and last!
Interesting you mention the Gabrielle bag. I love that bag and so far, I’ve spotted some pieces that I like here.
Does anyone understand Chanel putting the number 5 on handbags and apparel when it is obviously associated with the perfume? I don’t get it.
Because it’s part of the brands history
I mean… I guess. Very 90s oversized “in living colour” realness lol
I get a very Benetton vibe with the vibrant colors.
What is this …… like some before me said, it looks like crazygucci. Not appealing at all, everything looks like it is designed for some vulgar rapper or his silicone ass GF to wear over her diamond string bikini.
I don’t even understand this collaboration? Where are the products and bags? Are they hidden? Are we supposed to look for them like a child does when trying to find “Waldo”?
This is designed for a very specific, limited audience. It’s obviously not meant for the general public so I would say good luck with this collaboration!
I’m assuming Karl approved it.
Looks like an overpriced Billionaire Boys Club collection.
Does any one know how to get the style code for some of the items featured on these blogs? TY.
