Delvaux’s lineage goes far beyond “retro”, however; this Belgian brand actually claims to be the oldest luxury leather goods house in the world. Astrakhan is an extremely expensive fur, so Dita’s bag probably cost somewhere in the ballpark of five figures. If you’re wondering what exactly “Asktrakhan” even is, I’m happy to enlighten you! Asktrakhan fur is actually a sheepskin harvested from newborn and even fetal Karakul lambs from Central Asia. “Fetal?!”, you say. Yes, in order to harvest the most desirable Astrakhan fur, both ewe and lamb are sacrificed.
I’m always pro-leather, but this description gave me goosebumbs.

I have no problem whatsoever with fur, but I don’t think that coat’s very flattering on her and I don’t care for the bag at all.
