Nothing brings celebs to New Jersey like the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic, but if there is a dress code for this event, it must be fairly open to interpretation. This is always a very cosmopolitan crowd, but many seem uncertain as to how to dress for a boozy daytime polo match. The pendulum usually just swings between “too casual” and “too formal,” but this year, people really decided to experiment. Let’s take a look.
Kate Bock
Canadian model Kate Bock brought a neutral leather Senreve Belt Bag. I believe this is the first “bare midriff and pants” combo I’ve seen at the Polo Classic, but as I dig deeper through the event photos, I see that bare midriffs and skirts and bare midriffs and shorts were also in play this year. (Scream face emoji.)
Grace Bol
Grace Bol brought this eye-catching Rosantica Beaded Tote. She wasn’t the only celeb who opted for something silky and simple on a summer day.
Nicky Hilton Rothschild
Nicky Hilton Rothschild was basically born knowing how to dress for such occasions. Here she is carrying a black and white Mehry Mu Fey in the 50s Bag.
Ingrid Vandebosch
Ingrid Vandebosch brought along this teensy Hermès Kelly Mini Bag. I don’t recall seeing a ton of tulle at past Polo Classics, but it was somewhat trendy this year.
Aamito
Model Aamito opted for a bold, billowing white dress with tiny polka dots and accessorized the hell out of it with a fringed Jacquemus Espelho Micro Bag.
Danielle Bernstein
Fashion blogger Danielle Bernstein paired what we suspect is a new style from Shrimps with an uber-feminine satin frock.
Jessica Wang
Her fellow fashion blogger Jessica Wang adorned herself in sumptuous yellow tulle dress from Carolina Herrera and brought a Chanel Clutch.
Sofia Resing
Finally, here’s model Sofia Resing, wearing a delicate white jumpsuit paired with a white Parisa Wang Addicted Bucket Bag.
Not too impressed by the bags. I’m surprised that Carolina Herrera would design such an ugly dress.
Whhhaaaaaat? I think Aamito (never heard of her until this post) is killing it (in the bag and outfit department)!
Nicky Hilton is trying to channel Julia Roberts from Pretty Woman…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa0pmP-gmWE
Jessica Wang is too short in stature for this dress since it looks like she is drowning in tule. Unfortunately, the “Big Bird” image also came to mind. However, personally I don’t think this dress would look good on anyone.
She looks like the dress is trying to eat her. And succeeding.
I love that with the exception of Nicky Hilton R., I don’t recognize any of these people.
That’s funny since I was thinking the same thing! Also, even more importantly I don’t even care who they are! 🙂
It’s kelly pochette and not mini kelly ?
Ooooh that’s how Danielle Bernstein look like unedited.
