This week, majority of our celeb sightings come from none other than NYC, where many of our favorite stars, both new and old, have been seen working, galavanting and hiding from those pesky paps. Hailey Bieber joined her husband Justin on a trip across the country for his SNL performance, and the pair was snapped by paparazzi all weekend. Mrs. Bieber was spotted in a handful of fashionable ensembles, but her most notable outfit was a sleek leather dress that fit like a glove and Bottega Veneta’s insanely popular The Pouch in Zebra print. It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen an outfit this good!
Other celeb regulars continue to dress down like the rest of us and truly nothing is as relatable these days as model Elsa Hosk who paired a sleek Chanel Flap Bag with her sweatsuit to stroll around SoHo, NYC. Celebs, they’re just like us! Meanwhile across the pond Ashely Roberts wows us with yet another enviable bag (where does her collection end?!) and Lily Allen carries Dior’s newest iteration of the cult-favorite Book Tote. Personally, I’ve never been a velvet bag kinda gal but she’s got me rethinking here!
Lady Dior in the first pic looks fake af. Proportions of the bag are not that of a medium OR a large, and the stitching at the top and bottom isn’t consistent with the LD. Bad post.
Lady Dior in the first pic looks fake af. Proportions of the bag are not that of a medium OR a large, and the stitching at the top and bottom isn’t consistent with the LD. Also, patent LD’s are smooth on the sides, they don’t have quilting. Bad post.
Actually I think it is a Lady Dior My ABCDior bag—
they do have quilting on the side.
It’s not. And they don’t. Not on the patent ones. No Lady Dior have quilted sides on the patent models. There is no size that’s this size either, the handles are warped, the stitching on the top and bottom is a dead giveaway. The MLD is smaller than the medium, only has 3 or so total “whole” diamond quilts across the top and bottom. This one is larger than the medium but smaller than the large which is more e/w. It’s just a very very very very bad fake. 😉
Thank you for taking the time to comment! This photo was taking on the set of a Netflix film called ‘Inventing Anna’ leading me to assume the bag was a vintage piece as many costume designers often source vintage and (though rare) I have come across vintage patent Ladys with quilted sides (mainly the XL like this one though). After taking another look further you might very well be right. Good eye!
I wish it was “good eye” but omg it’s so bad Kaitlin! I am surprised they would use fakes this egregiously on the show! It’s like a “deer in headlights” level fake ? I guess we know a bit more about the show now don’t we? ?
get a life, good lord.
Why so negative on a blog about purses? She said “good eye” because she was responding as politely as she could to your critique which wasn’t that nicely worded (nor your further pushing with Sandy). “No it’s not a good eye you just suuuuuck” is so childish and unnecessary. Your emojis don’t make your condescension any better.
I didn’t respond to anyone named “Sandy”? Not sure what you are talking about. And no need for you to stick around and read things you don’t like . This was MY comment, and everyone is feeding off of it. I didn’t respond to anyone else’s original comments. I would be trolling if I did, which you are doing now. If you don’t like what I say, then no need to respond, but don’t go trolling other people’s posts and expect to be greeted with love and kindness. Make your own comment instead of responding to others, or expect what you get if you choose to attack someone else’s.
NOW. For the real issues. This was a big miss, and a serious one at that. Shockingly so. But perhaps you’re not spending hundreds of thousands of dollars a year on bags, so to you it’s just *no big deal*. For others, like me, it most certainly is.
So, a further look into the plot of this film… it’s based off of a New York Magazine story titled “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” surrounding the work of woman who faked being an heiress and conned her way into New York high society. It’s all making sense, huh?!
Well then. Mystery solved. It’s SUPPOSED to be a fake ?? (and probably an obvious one at that).
I don’t think it was a “bad post”, but an oversight and details missed, which is forgivable. It doesn’t even matter to me that the editor’s didn’t catch this error, I’m sure at times they are overwhelmed, with deadlines, etc. and simply overlook things. However, you are right that it is fake. The hardware is cheap and not proportionate, the size of the bag is off, the stitching is poor and the overall quality is inferior. I own several LD’s and my eye to detail found this bag to be a cheap replica and missing the luxury and quality that makes LD’s so special.
“Bad” means flawed. Not researched. Etc. For an obvious fake to make it into the article on a site that lauds handbag expertise is “bad”.
Do you realize that you come across as condescending? I understand the definition of the word “bad”, but you used it in two different context. Also, you commented in another post that “we are ALL different & should be accepting of each other”, but do you think that you could benefit from following your own advice?
Um. NO. I critiqued the post, not a person. If you post a fake on TPF (not per authentication query), you are likely to be kicked off entirely. Appears Kaitlin didn’t research, and when she did, she found clearly the point of the show is to capitalize on fraud, so all it took was a quick minute to check vs just posting b/c she trusted something on TV. Do you know the hundreds of millions of dollars lost by people “trusting” that an item is genuine, only to have been duped out of their money? My point is, that just because something is on a celebrity or personality, or famous IG’er, or socialite, does not inherently mean the item is authentic. That’s what I meant by “bad” post (un-researched).
Lighten up, it is not that big of a deal. It gave you something to be snarky about as apparently you are the article police.
?????
Fantastic
Kaitlyn can’t handle feedback that she missed a clear AF fake and keeps deleting comments to this effect.
That velvet Dior book tote looks so beautiful. Too bad the fabric would be impossible to keep looking good.
I love Ashley Roberts’s dress.
I don’t like the Bottega Veneta pouch, but I do like the zebra print.
Hailey Bieber always looks fantastic but I find it odd (and a little gross) when celebs wear pointy open shoes and their toes hang over the edge onto the ground.
Same!! Like whats the point of a POINTED shoe when theres no edge on it and your toes just flop over??
I was just think the same thing. Haha.
