Strolling Through Summer With the MCM Patricia Studded Hobo

Stunningly studded we took this fun bag for a sunny city stroll

Do you ever notice a certain bag brand that isn’t exactly new—more like not on your mind—creeping up more and more onto your bag radar? It’s like suddenly, one day, you realize you’re totally into this brand because its bags just keep popping up and you keep really loving them. That’s how I feel about MCM. Over the last eight months to a year, I’ve been surprised by how many times I saw an MCM bag that I really loved. It’s not that I didn’t know about or like many MCM bags previously, I think I just used to think of MCM as mostly offering bags with its (very well-known) monogram logo, but the brand is so much more than that! Recently I did a double take when MCM sent us samples of the Patricia Studded Hobo.

This bag is sleek, stylish, and elegant in an easy way, and in the words of MCM, this hobo “emphasizes unfussy chic.” It was inspired by MCM’s beloved Patricia Shoulder Bag, but it swaps in a curved, easy design for the more structured, boxy shape of its predecessor. A simple design with elevated details makes for the perfect everyday bag, and that’s what I love most about this one. It’s easy to wear and looks amazing styled with jeans, as we did for our shoot, and I could also see myself throwing this over my shoulder or in the crook of my arm alongside a dressier look or a more casual one—hello, sneakers! I love that the studs aren’t super delicate, but they’re also not bulky or too chunky. In the words of Goldilocks herself, they are just right.

The MCM Patricia Studded Hobo is crafted of a fine-grain Spanish leather, and I really loved the quality of this leather. The grain makes it really beautiful to look at, while it also seems super durable, which is ideal for a bag you’re going to use every day. Polished hardware accents the bag and an engraved, easy-to-operate pushlock closure keeps your belongings secure. This hobo comes with two straps—a top handle strap and an adjustable cross body strap, both of which are completely removable, which makes this bag easy to wear and very functional.

Inside there is one slit pocket on the front interior, as well as one zippered pocket on the back interior, which I used for cosmetics and other similar items like my pill case, hair bands, and hair clips. Usually I keep all of that stuff in a small cosmetics pouch, so making use of the inside pocket helped free up the rest of the bag for my things. The bag is lined in a cotton twill, and the overall dimensions are 7.7″ x 8.9″ x 2.6″. This studded lady retails for $965 and is available via MCM.

Kaitlin Serio

Ha! Sorry for the delay in response guys! We were on summer break. Yes that’s the NYC skyline and this was shot in Brooklyn at Domino Park. An incredible view! 🙂

Hopefully someone knows! 🙂 /the swede looking for ideas on places to go on my and my SO’s roadtrip in the US that thinks this city looked very charmig with the trees, water and the city in the background!

Just adding that info so that no one thinks that I am some crazy stalker looking to harass Kaitlin! haha.

Lisa

its New York City, shot from Brooklyn. You see the Manhattan skyline in the background. Pretty sure the PB HQ is in NYC. all of the brunch places featured in the Purseblog Eats series are in the city as well.

JH

I think it’s Manhattan shot from LIC or Greenpoint.

B

Thank you Lisa and JH, I would not have guessed! I actually ruled that one out in my mind, although NY s the only city I have ever visited in the states so I should maybe have recognised it! I guess I thought it would look “bigger”. Oh well, it’s such a great city that definitely deserves another visit during our trip! 🙂

I do like that it comes with a shorter and longer strap. That puts this bag on my radar in a way I hadn’t expected.

Love it in blue. Cute bag.

This bag is super cute and not too big nor too small. I love the pleated singlet too

Truly such a perfect size I must say!

That is a lot of money for a bag manufactured in Korea, if you consider the prices of beautiful Korean purses from Metrocity, Hazzy’s, or Louis Quatorze.

Darietta

I’ve never heard of those brands, thank you for a suggestion! But I googled Metrocity and it says Milano everywhere on their website. How do you know they are made in Korea?

Jerri R

A lot of Korean bag companies put European city names under their brand names. I know what they are doing 🙁

Sparky

Very pretty. Nice price too.

I own one in green (my favorite color) and I love the fact that it comes with short and long straps and can even be carried as a clutch. Bought mine at the MCM outlet. Very well made bag and I love me some MCMs.
