Now that we’ve finished gorging ourselves on Christmas cookies, New Year’s Eve champagne and everything in between, the first regular work week of 2016 is upon us. While you might be feeling a little lethargic and disoriented, we’re ready to help you hit the ground running. Well, as far as handbags go, at least. You’re on your own at your job.
December is mostly about looking back at what’s on sale from fall collections, but you’re probably as sick of seeing some of those bags as we are. Luckily, Resort 2016 bags are starting to go from pre-order to in stock, and maybe even a spring bag or two has snuck in to our favorite retailers. We’ve looked over the new arrivals, and we think the 20 bags below are great places to start your spring shopping.
The Tod’s bag looks cheap. I love The Row and that bag looks simple and classic, but it also seems grossly overpriced for that very reason. Aside from the tassel, there’s not much interesting about it.
I love the Maiyet bag. That is the only one listed that I would look into purchasing. I am really drawn to suede bags these days…perhaps it’s the season.
BTW, whatever happened to Hogan bags? I see them on the FarFetch site and some of them are cute, but the prices are more in the $400-$600 range. I remember coveting Hogan bags years ago.
Wow..,the Tod’s bag is awful! So out of character. The Fendi bag is of interest…I will keep watch and see how it does.
I think the Givenchy Obsedia is modern and sexy.
Victoria Beckham is really late to the leopard print bag party. I like leopard prints, but the market is saturated (IMO, the best by far was D&G’s velvet and snakeskin leopard print Monica bag, the workmanship was amazing and it was fabulous to touch, but I just couldn’t deal with the $4000 price tag). Also, after 2016, I think we’ll see a lot fewer calf-hair bags. Most women I know find them a bit off-putting.
I like the Louboutin bag, even if it does show some clear Antigona influence, but wish it came in other colors. The Lanvin bag colors are luscious, ditto for the Tod’s, but as noted below, the Tod bag just doesn’t work — it looks cheap, definitely not worth $2100.
Looking forward to seeing more 2016 introductions!
Gucci is def on point lately
That Nancy Gonzalez Wallis Tote is gorgeous. I would us that a lot in the spring and summer.
YAWN! Can’t say I’m a not big fan of the brights pigment dyes. They make the bags look cheap. Like the leather is substandard and you’re trying to hide something (like a pile of pock marks.)
that proenze is a joke? why the leather crease like that? uglier than China made PU
Since the lining is another layer of leather bonded to the outside, it’s always going to crease. That’s just the nature of double sided leather…
