A Case for Color: Red Is No Longer a Trend, but a Closet Staple

You'll want to add one of these stunners to your rotation

Of all the trends that we see in a given season, color trends are the hardest to monitor. Virtually every shade you can imagine is represented in one way or another in the luxury handbag world. So, in order for a color to be ‘trending’, it has to be widely available at nearly every major brand. Over the last few years we’ve called out red as a trending color time and time again, with nearly all of our favorite designers offering up the beautiful bright hue.

However, the move towards red offerings has continued to pick up steam season after season, and at this point it has become more of a closet staple than a trend color. Designers no longer work red into their offerings as a standout piece, rather the shade is carried over season after season. Fall 2020 is no different, and there are so many good bags to pick from. Pantone has even included two different shades in its autumnal color report.

That being said, there’s no time like the present to invest in a red bag. Red works for so many reasons, but the main one being that it can read as an unlikely neutral when incorporated into any outfit, all the while providing a fun pop of color. Check out which red bags we’ve got our eyes on below.
