The Best Bags in the Wild We Spotted in SoHo

Featuring some stylish men and their designer carries

Where the fashion crowd of SoHo shines is their lack of uniformity in the bags they carry.

With a surprise around every corner, capturing style in SoHo means mysteries, countless brands, and a wide range of silhouettes.

Below is the best case for a Longchamp classic I’ve seen thus far, accompanied by a subtle green coat I’m dying to get my hands on. A silver Prada Cleo and a denim Chanel Flap caught my eye as well, but the boys in their fresh Bottega and LV favorites made me pull out my Christmas wishlist and make some adjustments.

Love this new layout. It looks cleaner, easier to read and up to date. The former format felt a bit dated in my opinion. The ads are driving me nuts though…lol.

Vlad Dusil

We’re experimenting with some new layouts for these BITW posts, let us know in the comments how you like the layout or what you’d like to see changed. Cheers!

SonShownu

oh i love the new layout

Vlad Dusil

I am glad you do!

Katie

I like the new format—it’s not always easy to see the whole bag in the photo, so it’s nice to see the thumbnail underneath. It’s hard to find the comments, though. Could they be moved up? I also can’t find a way to log in within the comment section…

Vlad Dusil

So I am working on integrating the comment system we had used for the last two years but having been running into issues. Hopefully it can come back soon. I’ll also work on making the comments more prominent, though thankfully you can now tap/click the comment link on the top by the header and jump down to the comments right away!

Hmmmmm

Lovely pics. Unfortunately, I sort of hate the new layout, but may end up getting used to it and loving it!

I’m certain that the lady with the Mango shopping bag is carrying a Gucci Soho Chain Tote with the logo facing the other way — quite fitting for SoHo!

Change is always hard – but if there are specific things you see, don’t like, or have thoughts on, let us know! This is offering us a way to showcase content that you all are loving and can see differently. I need to get used to it as well!

Hmmmmm

Absolutely! It’s similar to when you get the yearly Apple update and loathe it at first, but then the sentiment changes. One thing I do like is how you are showing the version of the bag that’s for sale right next to the photo of it being worn.

Jaime Gray

I miss liking other commenters. Otherwise you either compelled to write the same thing or nothing at all. Definitely take some time to get used to, my eyes are not sure where to look. I thought you had ads next to the pics before realizing its pic and link to that purse or similar.

Mia

Me too!

Vlad Dusil

I am looking to bring the upvoting back!

Jennifer

Don’t care for the new layout. The stock photo of the bag takes away from the photos -it seems more like an ad than the fabulous candids of regular people with their bags, doing their thing.

Terri

I agree. Will probably need sometime to get used to.

FashionableLena

I agree. This looks cluttered and junky. The previous look was clean.

spoiledinseattle

I’m liking this layout!

That all taupe outfit with the black bag is giving me major Diane Keaton energy 😍

JB

I like the new format as everything is the same size vs original where photo size varied. I never liked the header where you revealed at least 3 of the looks before the article. I view on an iPad so easy for me to enlarge photo if need a better look. I do like the stock photo and link to buy. Comments are cleaner and easy to find as there is a jump at the top. I think it would be good to have a like option as well to encourage interaction.

Vlad Dusil

Thanks for your feedback, JB. I am working on bringing the like feature back to the comment section.

gail c.

Can anyone identify the black hobo? Thank you.

K.J.

Loving the new format/layout big time! Easier to compare/contrast what the bag looks like online vs “in the wild”.

The balenciaga bag is a velo not a city

kemilia

I wondered about that with the longer strap but it gave me an idea to use my Etsy guitar-type strap on my City for an outdoors crowded event I will be going to (tree lighting), kinda making it a temporary cross-body and leaving me hands-free to hold hot cocoa & popcorn (gotta have the cocoa!).

Nibb

Great layout! An easier read with a designated chunk of space for each bag.

Passerine

I like the layout overall but two things — first, I wish that photos would be numbered when there are more than a half dozen or so in the column.

Second, this new format feels a bit…cold. Sterile. I liked the old interaction between commenters (even when things got a bit testy) that is missing with this new format. No upticking of comments. You can reply to comments but it’s harder to know who’s replying to whom (if there are more than three or four replies).

Vlad Dusil

Great input, Passerine.

I can look into numbering the image galleries, shouldn’t be too difficult.

As for the comment section, I am working on reintegrating the comment system we had used for the last two years. Hopefully I can bring it back and long with it the upvote functionality!

Liliana

The man carrying the BV Sardine bag looks much better than the current add campaign, maybe BV should try to find him and might help giving a sense of realism to their adds

Adangerousbeauti

The last one with white leggings looks like she’s wearing a man’s ballet tights. Theres something wrong with they way she styled her outfit

Bethany A

Sorry but new layout is a jumbled mess! On my mobile, it’s just a long column of images with no idea if I’m seeing an ad or part of article.(perhaps that’s the marketing strategy?)
It took some hunting before finally finding the referred “Below is the best case for a Longchamp classic I’ve seen thus far, accompanied by a subtle green coat.” It was 9 images away! I won’t work that hard to piece together an article with its corresponding images and comments.
Sorry.
